Gongdeok lash salon: round C-curl lift for droopy corners, Iyo Shop

It had been over a month since my last lash lift, so it was time for a new one. My lashes were drooping again under the force of gravity, so to bring them back to life I went to a lash salon near Gongdeok Station, not far from my home. The salon's name is the super cute Iyo Shop.

Iyo Shop is at 143 Mapo-daero, Park Palace 2, Room 211 (2nd floor), Mapo-gu, Seoul, about a 5-minute walk from Exit 3 of Gongdeok Station on Line 5. Iyo Shop is on the 2nd floor of Park Palace 2, which you reach by going straight from Exit 3 of Gongdeok Station. It's only about a 5-minute walk, so access is really good. And if you take the bus and get off at the Ahyeon-dong Community Center stop, the building right in front of you is Park Palace 2, so it's super easy to find.

Park Palace 2 building and the way to Iyo Shop

Park Palace 2 has all kinds of shops on different floors. I checked that Iyo Shop, the lash salon on the 2nd floor, was listed, then headed up.

There are stairs right behind the directory sign, and they're the convenient way up. If you come in through these stairs, Iyo Shop is right in front of the entrance!

As soon as you enter the building you'll spot Iyo Shop's cute, round white sign, and the salon itself is screened off by a white curtain. I booked through Naver and visited, and the lash design starts once they confirm your reservation.

What are Iyo Shop's interior and hygiene like?

Inside, Iyo Shop has white-toned furniture with silver accents and is decorated with small props, so it felt clean and bright. I also liked that the waiting/consultation area and the treatment area are separate.

The treatment area with the bed was kept clean and tidy too, and the tools and materials are managed thoroughly, which felt very careful and let me relax during the treatment.

Iyo Shop's one-on-one consultation: which extension curls and colors?

Iyo Shop, a lash lift specialist near Gongdeok Station, runs 100% by reservation. Tell them the design or treatment you want (lift or extensions) and they consult once more about what design and shape suit you. Consultation and treatment are one-on-one and private, and they design to suit each person's different look and eye shape.

For extensions, besides regular curl, curl mix and black, they offer lashes in several colors such as dark brown, and shapes such as C-curl, D-curl and JC-curl are available in a range, so the owner can do them beautifully to fit your eye shape.

Why a round C-curl dual lift instead of a J-curl?

They say lash lifts at Iyo Shop can be tailored even for monolid eyes, and custom-designed even for lashes like mine that are weak, thin or drooping.

Iyo Shop does lash extensions well too, but! Personally I find extensions a bit uncomfortable and don't really enjoy them, so I chose a lift again this time. But this time I wanted to try something a little different! Before, I only did an upper lash lift with a J-curl, but this time I also got a lower lash lift, with a curve in a C-curl round shape.

Doing both upper and lower lashes is called a dual lift. They did the upper lashes first and then the lower ones, in order. My eyes never felt stinging, sore or uncomfortable during the treatment, and I could rest very comfortably.

Round C-curl dual lift: before and after, and how long it lasts

This is the result of the dual lift Iyo Shop did so nicely and carefully! This is a few days after the treatment, with only black lash serum applied. I'm careful not to squash them when I sleep and I put on lash essence morning and night, and the hold is honestly really good.

Before the treatment, my inner and outer eye corners were drooping, but they lifted both ends precisely and firmly, so my eyes look fresher and more open, and the lower lashes that used to stick straight out to the front were curled round and pretty.
