Yeonnam-dong Italian brunch for jambon arugula pizza: Classicdang

Getting to Classicdang in Yeonnam-dong

I decided to meet my younger sibling in Yeonnam-dong after such a long time~ We wondered what to have for lunch, then visited Classicdang, which is said to be a great Italian brunch spot in Yeonnam-dong!

Outdoor tables and a charming interior

Classicdang also has outdoor tables, so I think it would be nice to eat outside on a lovely day~ It was still hot when I visited, though, so we decided to eat in the cool interior haha. The inside is quite charming, and perhaps because it is near Hongdae, lots of international visitors were stopping by~

We chose pizza and lasagna

Classicdang has a wide selection of salads, pizza, pasta, risotto, and steak, so it took us a little while to choose haha.

It was so hot while we waited that I nearly finished an entire bottle of water; haha. I felt like I had some kind of water-guzzling parasite...,

Jambon & arugula pizza and classic lasagna

The jambon (cured ham) & arugula pizza came out first, pizzzza~~🍕 I've been really into jambon lately, and doesn't it look so delicious?

The classic lasagna came out soon after! It was very hot, so be carefulㅜ I loved the owner's thoughtful touch of serving it covered with a cloth 👍

We were at a table for two, so it was a little cramped, but the owner thoughtfully pulled over a small side table for us haha.

It had been a while since I'd had wood-fired pizza, so I was excited,, haha. Since this was a meal with someone I had not seen in ages, it was such a happy time as we unpacked a whole bundle of things to chat about~

Because it was wood-fired pizza, the dough was wonderfully chewy, and the salty jambon and fresh arugula came together so well~! The crust was not thick; it was thin like a thin-crust pizza. Classic lasagna is one of my favorite foods because its layered pasta sheets are packed with minced meat and cheese~! I cut it into easy-to-eat pieces 💛

It was full of slowly simmered tomato sauce and meat, giving it a deep, rich flavor 👍

Officially delicious.

Why we added crab cheese rosé pasta

It was the first meal of the day for both of us, and the portions were not huge, so I suggested we eat more at a café. But my companion said that when two people come, they normally order four dishes,,,,? I do order up to three myself (haha,,,,). They seemed so hungry, so we went ahead and added another order.

Crab cheese rosé pasta ₩19,000

Since we ordered it after finishing everything else, we had to wait a bit haha. This was my first time doing that ㅠ hahaha. It had a rosé cream sauce, and I liked how thick and rich the cream flavor was. I do not know what the cheese on top was, but it was a little tangy and went really well with the pasta!

With the sweet savoriness of the crab added in, it tasted like something I wanted to mix with rice and eat as risotto~ I recommend Classicdang to anyone wanting a simple brunch in Yeonnam-dong, or a place that is true to the basics yet feels right for a special day!
