Namdong restaurant for spicy octopus cheese pasta: Boksakkot Pineun Jip

In short

Boksakkot Pineun Jip Incheon Branch is a Korean restaurant in Namdong, Incheon. I tried its Jjuchipa—spicy webfoot octopus, cheese, and pasta—with gorgonzola wood-fired pizza during a weekend outing with my husband. Verdict: save the sauce-soaked pasta for last!

My husband and I heard there was a great webfoot octopus place on our weekend outing, so we went! I’d been curious about Boksakkot Pineun Jip because it has long been known for good food, and I finally got to visit 💗

There are spacious parking areas both above and below, so it’s an easy place to drive to 🚘 I recommend coming by car rather than public transit!

Waiting area at Boksakkot Pineun Jip

Even though we visited early, there were so many customers 🤓 We got the timing wrong and arrived before opening, but people were already waiting in the waiting area!❗️

Family gathering seating and the self-service bar

There are floor-seating tables and lots of seats, and with plenty of staff too, everything felt well organized 🤓 If you’re coming with a baby, these floor seats could be nice as well ❤️

I made a reservation beforehand, so I was shown to the second floor 🥺 The wide-open windows gave it such a lovely, open feel 🙆🏻♀️ I could see why it is so popular for family gatherings and group reservations 💗

The side dishes were set out in advance, and I loved the lush green view outside. I think it would feel atmospheric and lovely even on a rainy day.

There are high chairs too, so it seems like a good place to bring a baby 🤣 As I ate, I noticed lots of family gatherings here ✨

At the self-service bar, you can enjoy side dishes as well as miyeokguk (seaweed soup) and yakgwanmun tea 💗 The dishes that came out were already generous, so I didn’t use it separately, but it would be so nice when you come as a group, right? 🙆🏻♀️

They also sell ice bars and ssalgangjeong (crispy rice snacks) at the entrance, perfect for dessert ❤️

Jjuchipa and gorgonzola wood-fired pizza

Menu

I had already decided what I wanted before arriving, so I ordered without hesitation, but there are so many options—spicy stir-fried pork, braised jumbo beef ribs, braised jumbo beef ribs with seafood, pork cutlet, children’s spaghetti, stir-fried webfoot octopus, stir-fried octopus, and more—making it perfect for a group 💗

Here’s what I ordered. Jjuchipa + handmade wood-fired pizza (gorgonzola) Salad, muksabal, and after-meal coffee

How was the food?

Ta-da! ✨ These are the side dishes that came out before we really got started!❗️ There was such a variety—salad, muksabal (cold acorn jelly soup), yeolmu kimchi, and seasoned mung bean sprouts—that I could have finished a bowl of rice with just these 😜

Mornings and evenings have been chilly lately, but it is still hot at lunchtime 🤔 It was a sunny, hot day too, and the cool muksabal felt so refreshing going down 💗

Salad served before the meal

What more is there to say about salad? It was such a nice palate cleanser before the meal 🤣 The dressing was generously applied too.

Rice balls served with webfoot octopus sauce

My husband finished shaping the little round rice balls too 🙆🏻♀️ They went so well with the webfoot octopus sauce that we polished them off in no time, even though we were full 💖

Gorgonzola pizza served with honey

The gorgonzola pizza comes with honey, and it was delicious even on its own rather than with the webfoot octopus. There was quite a lot of cheese in it too 😘

Jjuchipa, spicy webfoot octopus cheese pasta

Ta-da, the main Jjuchipa arrived 🤣 It is a combination of webfoot octopus + cheese + pasta, and it looked so appetizing 💗 It came fully cooked, so they said we could eat it straight away 😉

Jjuchipa ready to eat

The webfoot octopus was plump through and through.

Pasta in webfoot octopus sauce made me wonder whether somyeon (thin wheat noodles) might suit it better, but once I tried it, the pasta did not get soggy and went so well together 🤓 As it simmers, the noodles soak up more sauce, so I recommend saving them for last 💖

Takeout coffee after the meal

We finished with takeout coffee. We enjoyed everything right through dessert 🙆🏻♀️ Thanks for the great meal!
