Korean restaurant in Michuhol, Incheon: Hantiok bossam set meals

In short

Hantiok Lotte Department Store Incheon Branch is a Korean restaurant in Michuhol, Incheon, inside the basement food court. On a return visit, I ordered the 22,000 won bossam set meal and 20,000 won gondre bibimbap set meal, both as generous as the display models. A satisfying stop for a hearty Korean meal before or after shopping.

When I want a Korean set meal at Lotte Department Store Incheon

Image from a visit to Hantiok at Lotte Department Store Incheon

Like a sparrow that can’t pass a mill, I somehow find myself naturally heading to Lotte Department Store Incheon every weekend, haha. Every time I go, I end up wondering what to eat. Hantiok, where I ate so deliciously on my last visit! I was craving Korean food for the first time in a while, so I came back~

Return visit for a Korean meal at Hantiok

Hantiok Lotte Department Store Incheon Branch (한티옥 롯데백화점 인천점) is tucked inside the basement-level food court of Lotte Department Store, connected to Exit 2 of Incheon Terminal Station~ It links directly to the subway station through an underground passage, so it’s really easy to visit comfortably whatever the weather 👍 There are plenty of dedicated Hantiok tables beside the restaurant, too. If those seats are full, you can also eat at the food court’s shared tables.

Right beside the ordering counter, there’s a whole display of models of the actual dishes. It was so nice to be able to see the portions and combinations before choosing! And really, the food comes out just as generously as the models.

What comes with the bossam and gondre bibimbap set meals

Hantiok’s individual meals are substantial too, but they also have “bansang” set meals, where you can sample a good variety of dishes, haha. I liked that the small print beneath each menu clearly listed all the side dishes included! Everything looked so good that I had a hard time deciding, but I ordered the bossam set meal (₩22,000) and the gondre bibimbap set meal (₩20,000)!

Since I ordered both as set meals, the big trays were packed from edge to edge. They looked almost 100% identical to the models I had seen beside the counter before ordering!

The gondre set comes with spicy pork, soup, dumplings, tofu, and three basic side dishes. The soup was a deep, rich gomtang (beef bone soup).

The bossam set comes with bossam (boiled pork wraps), gukbap rice soup, dumplings, tofu, and three basic side dishes. Its soup was spicy Andong gukbap! It also comes with wrap vegetables.

Components of the bossam and gondre set meals

The side dishes included salted squid, pickled gungchae (stem lettuce), and napa cabbage kimchi, plus salted shrimp, ssamjang dipping paste, chili peppers, and garlic for the bossam~

Tender bossam piled high with radish kimchi

Ahh, doesn’t the bossam look amazing~~ The portion is seriously generous too, wow. And I absolutely love radish kimchi with bossam, so I was happy they gave us such a plentiful amount, haha.

I ate it piled with radish kimchi and wrapped it in greens too~🤤 So many ways to enjoy the bossam. The pork was warm and tender, with absolutely no unwanted smell, so delicious!!

The Andong gukbap was nicely spicy and delicious. They also have Andong gukbap as both an individual dish and a set meal, so I’m going to try that next time!

The combination of fragrant gondre and fire-kissed spicy pork

There was so much gondre greens that you could almost say it was half rice and half greens, and the gondre aroma was sooo intense. It was delicious even with just the seasoned sauce poured over it, haha.

Gondre rice generously topped with greens

The spicy pork here is seriously good too, haha. It has a subtle fire-kissed aroma, and the sweet-spicy seasoning is absorbed right into the meat—I almost wondered why it isn’t available as an individual dish! One bowl of rice disappears in no time, haha.

You really have to try a piece of chewy, spicy salted squid placed right on top of the fragrant gondre rice too, haha.

I came here craving Korean food for the first time in a while, and once again, I was completely satisfied with a meal that felt neat and full of deep homemade flavor. It’s a perfect Korean restaurant to visit quietly when you’re bringing your parents out to the department store, or when you want a filling meal before or after shopping.
