Today it's not a restaurant. I'm introducing a PC café near Gireum Station where I finally got to game for the first time in a while and eat properly too. PC ccafés these days aren't just places to play games, right? The facilities and the food are seriously well put together! This time I went to ZERO100 PC Gireum. It's close to Gireum Station and open 24 hours, so there's no time pressure at all. And I didn't just game: I ordered a bunch of PC café food and really went for it 🎮🍴

How easy is ZERO100 PC Gireum to find from Gireum Station?

ZERO100 PC Gireum is about 66 m from Gireum Station Exit 6, in the basement of a nearby building. A big PC / ZERO100 sign is visible from the front of the building, so even first-timers should find it fairly easily. Head down toward the entrance and there's a large ZERO100 logo, so you can confirm the spot at a glance.

It's practically right when you step off the subway. That makes it an easy PC café in Gireum-dong for a late-night gaming run or for meeting friends, which I really liked.

ZERO100 PC Gireum seats and atmosphere

The inside of ZERO100 PC Gireum has a clean look in black and gray, and each PC has a partition, so you're separated from the next seat to some degree. The aisles between seats don't feel cramped either, which was nice.

The monitors were roomy, and with mechanical keyboards and gaming gear it's a good setup for focusing on your game. The lighting isn't too bright but soft, so my eyes felt less tired even after sitting a long time. There's also a separate SMOKING AREA in the middle, so the smoking space and the PC area are kept apart. Overall it felt like a clean, modern PC café near Gireum Station 👍

What we ordered at ZERO100 PC Gireum, and the prices

This time I ordered five items, ₩19,900 in total. Between watching dramas and gaming I naturally got hungry, so I ordered food right from my PC 😋

  • Cheddar cheese hot dog (single): ₩3,500
  • Jjagyechi (jjajang ramyeon with egg and cheese): ₩4,500
  • King Tarenji (a drink): ₩1,900
  • Kimpitang (kimchi + pizza + tangsuyuk, sweet and sour pork): ₩4,500
  • Tuna kimchi fried rice (with fried egg): ₩5,500
  • Total: ₩19,900!

You can pick items and pay right at your PC seat, so there's no need to walk to the counter, which was convenient. The variety was bigger than I expected, so everything from light snacks to meals like fried rice was covered in one spot.

The five items ordered at ZERO100 PC Gireum

After a short wait, the dishes came out one by one. With the hot dog, jjagyechi, kimpitang and tuna kimchi fried rice all laid out, it was a pretty hearty spread for PC café food 😂 In the old days, PC cafés made me think of cup ramyeon or frozen dumplings first, but now the range is honestly on par with a snack bar (bunsikjip).

Above all, the biggest plus is that you can order and eat right at your seat without quitting your game and going out! Finish a round, eat, and jump straight back into the game: a perfect flow 🎮

Cheddar cheese hot dog at ZERO100 PC Gireum

🌭 Cheddar cheese hot dog (₩3,500)

The cheddar cheese hot dog at ZERO100 PC Gireum has a sausage tucked in a long bun, topped with a generous pour of cheddar cheese sauce. Just looking at it, the cheese was plentiful, so I could already imagine the salty flavor before eating.

With one bite you first get the soft bun and springy sausage, then the rich, nutty cheddar rushes in. The flavor isn't complicated, just a familiar, tasty PC café snack. It's easy to eat one-handed while gaming, and the portion isn't excessive. It's a good order when you're a little hungry but a full meal feels like too much 🌭

🍜 Jjagyechi (₩4,500)

Jjagyechi is jjajang ramyeon (black bean noodles) with egg and cheese added, a PC café essential! It's hard for this combo to be bad.

The sweet, salty flavor of the jjajang sauce gets much smoother and thicker with the cheese. Add the egg and the nutty taste comes through even more. It's clearly richer than plain jjajang ramyeon and was enough for a meal. It felt like the classic popular PC café menu for when you get peckish mid-game! Personally, it's a punchy but familiar flavor, so I kept reaching for more 😋

🥤 King Tarenji (₩1,900)

I also ordered a ₩1,900 King Tarenji to drink with the food. After eating several greasy or salty PC café dishes, having a drink in between really helped reset my mouth.

It went especially well with rich-sauce foods like the hot dog and kimpitang. At ₩1,900, it's not a burden to add to other items! Ordering a drink along with the food while gaming was convenient too. Rather than ordering only food, I recommend adding a drink. A cold drink next to your game is what completes a PC café 🥤

🍕 Kimpitang (₩4,500)

Kimpitang is, as the name says, a combo of kimchi + pizza + tangsuyuk, and it was one of the dishes I was most curious about this time. Sweet and sour sauce and kimchi go on top of crispy tangsuyuk, and melted cheese covers it all, so it looks pretty intense.

The nuttiness of the tangsuyuk and the tang of the kimchi went together better than I expected, and the cheese smoothly tied the whole flavor together. It had much more going on than plain tangsuyuk, which made it fun. It's also easy to pick at one piece at a time while gaming, so it's a pretty good PC café dish 👍

🍳 Tuna kimchi fried rice (₩5,500)

Last was the tuna kimchi fried rice, great for a filling meal! The ₩5,500 fried rice came topped with a fried egg with a runny yolk, so it looked great too.

The spicy-tangy kimchi fried rice flavor gets the nuttiness of tuna, so every bite felt familiar and filling. If you break the yolk and mix it through the rice, the spice softens a little and the nutty flavor comes out more. Of all the dishes, this one felt most like a real meal, and for people gaming for a long time, it looked like the best pick for staying full 🍳
