Apgujeong Chinese restaurant for mala eggplant fritters: Bobo Sikdang
In short
Bobo Sikdang Apgujeong is a Chinese restaurant on the first floor of Robin Luxury Mall in Gangnam, Seoul, an 8-minute walk from Apgujeongrodeo Station, built mainly around private rooms. Seated at a table for two in the hall, we ordered the mala sauce eggplant fritters, butter sweet and sour pork (tenderloin), and the mapo tofu rice bowl, and the eggplant fritters came first of the three — crisp batter and not spicy at all. With rooms seating up to 8, Bobo Sikdang Apgujeong works for family meals and group dinners.

I finally found a genuinely delicious Chinese restaurant!!!! It's even a spot that appeared on Culinary Class Wars season 2.... They have all kinds of private rooms too, so I recommend it as an Apgujeong Chinese room restaurant. As for what the owner (me) ate~~

Where is Bobo Sikdang Apgujeong, and what are the hours?
Bobo Sikdang Apgujeong is about an 8-minute walk from Apgujeongrodeo Station. The bright red exterior stands out. That day, the owner (me) went with a slightly

We picked from the popular (signature) menu — butter sweet and sour pork, mala sauce eggplant fritters (I worried this would be spicy, but it wasn't spicy at all!! Recommended), and mapo tofu rice bowl. We'd already decided what to order the day before haha.

Interior, reservations and the Culinary Class Wars 2 chef
I was surprised how upscale and clean the interior of Bobo Sikdang Apgujeong is. Now that's Apgujeong for you.

We'd reserved ahead through Catch Table and got shown to our reserved seat! Since it was just the two of us, we sat in the hall! And apparently the Bobo Sikdang chef appeared on Culinary Class Wars season 2! I'd only watched season 1, so I had no idea.

What's on the Bobo Sikdang Apgujeong menu?
Bobo Sikdang's menu board.

I took photos of the entire food and drinks menu.

Meng-i's version of "waiting."

The restroom is outside the restaurant, inside the building. Pretty clean!

How many private rooms does Bobo Sikdang have?
Bobo Sikdang Apgujeong is a room-style restaurant with a huge number of private rooms. I couldn't photograph them all, but it seems solid for family meals too. The 6-seat table near the entrance is really clean (coming up later) — honestly the interior here has such a great feel...

Zero-calorie cola~ Chinese food gets a bit greasy so cola is essential haha.
Lunch hour was winding down so most of the other customers had cleared out. Nice and quiet.
Waiting for my girl. And then she arrives. Meng-i was at peak "woman" mode that day. Heels on, contacts in. And her outfit had a bit of a Lemaire-style OOTD vibe. Gotta love a beautiful woman 🖤🖤
Are the mala sauce eggplant fritters spicy?

Mala sauce eggplant fritters 🍆🍆🍆 Meng-i said this was the tastiest (thinking back on it, I think it was my favorite too haha). Wow, but the frying was seriously crispy! Legendary 👅👅👅 And I thought the mala sauce would be spicy, but it wasn't spicy at all — yet the mala aroma was still full-on, truly amazing... You have to try this.... Please!!

Butter sweet and sour pork (tenderloin)
Sweet and sour pork with butter (tenderloin). This was the dish I was most looking forward to, kekeke.

Mapo tofu rice bowl
The mapo tofu rice bowl lets you choose noodles or rice, and we went with rice. Actually this was my first time having mapo tofu at a proper restaurant — wow, it was really good. I think I'd only ever had mapo tofu at, like, school cafeterias? The tofu was so soft, and honestly everything we ate that day was delicious.
My ranking: mala eggplant fritters > mapo tofu rice bowl > butter sweet and sour pork. Now I'm curious about the other dishes.... I'd genuinely come back. The staff were all kind too, and every dish was tasty.

Ah, so this is the 8-person room. This place seems really solid? I'd strongly recommend it for group dinners. Good for bringing your parents, and also good as an Apgujeong date course.

Where to go after lunch in Apgujeong Rodeo

That hilarious statue in Apgujeongrodeo. After eating our fill that day, we headed to Namdaemun Flower Market — heck yeah~~ Such a fun choice. It was my first time ever going to a flower market, and it made me genuinely happy. September is my girl Meng-i's birthday month, kyaka. Life's been stressful lately with one exhausting thing after another, but going on a date with Meng-i and playing
