In short
Solsot Gwangalli is a Korean restaurant near Gwangalli Beach in Suyeong, Busan. I tried lobster shrimp pot rice, steak pot rice, and yuringi, then finished with warm nurungji made with broth. Verdict: a satisfying, easy-on-the-stomach meal before or after a seaside walk.

I was heading out for a walk by the sea and wanted a filling meal that would still sit comfortably, so I looked up good lunch spots in Gwangalli. Just a short walk from the beach, I found Solsot Gwangalli, a restaurant specializing in sotbap (rice cooked in an individual pot).

The clean atmosphere and kind staff made the whole visit comfortable, and I was so pleased that I could finish with warm nurungji (scorched rice) after the meal.

A restaurant atmosphere close to Gwangalli Beach
It is a five-minute walk from Exit 1 of Geumnyeonsan Station, and the sea opens up after just one minute on foot once you finish eating. There is no parking support, so you will need to use a nearby paid parking lot.

Once inside, the dining room is very spacious, with more than 50 seats, and the air conditioning was running strong, so it felt incredibly comfortable.

The pretty, atmospheric interior throughout the space was a treat for the eyes even before the food arrived.

With generous space between tables and a lovely atmosphere, it is not only a nice spot for a Gwangalli date; high chairs are available too, making it ideal for a comfortable family gathering.

The menu and the pot rice we ordered

Steak and lobster shrimp pot rice
The pot-rice dishes we ordered came on neat individual trays as warm, beautifully arranged full meals. They were such a pleasure to look at.

The steak pot rice had plenty of meat. Mixed well with the sauce, it was mildly savory and nicely filling.

The lobster shrimp pot rice brought together the rich abalone innards sauce, cheese, and the texture of the shrimp beautifully. It was unusual yet clean-tasting.

The yuringi, a tasty side of crispy fried chicken with a sweet-tangy sauce, was also great alongside the pot rice. It was crisp, sweet and sour, without being overly intense, and sat easily on the stomach.

Finishing with broth nurungji
But the real highlight of pot rice is the nurungji at the end, right? After scooping the rice into a bowl, I poured in the broth and kept the lid on. Scooping it up warm at the end of the meal made my stomach feel completely soothed and doubled the sense of satisfaction.

The food was clean-tasting and nicely balanced, and the comfortable atmosphere made the visit all the more satisfying. The sea is just a short walk away after eating, so the route could not have been better.

Is it comfortable for children and travelers?
It is one minute on foot from the sea, making it the perfect route for a walk after eating. It was great for filling up before or after taking in the Gwangalli drone show and other sights.

High chairs are available, and there are children's menu items such as cheese pork cutlet that kids may enjoy. It was clean and comfortable, and I would love to come back with family for a wonderful family gathering.
The food's clean flavors were very easy on the stomach, and the warm nurungji at the end was exceptionally satisfying. With its large dining room and kind staff, it was just right for a pleasant family meal or date.
