Magok gopchang grill with free parking and egg fried rice: Hwang Gop

Haven't seen my sister-in-law in a while hahaha, and on a Friday night no less haha (wish we could stay out all night~~). Today I went to try gopchang (grilled beef intestines) in Magok, Magoknaru — one of the hottest areas right now.

It's within a 5-minute walk from Magoknaru Station, so access is really convenient. And even if you drive, you can park at the Hillstate Eco building — such a plus^^ Free parking near Magoknaru Station, where so many office workers are, must be exactly why this place is popular for company dinners and meetups.

Inside Hwang Gop: open storefront and tablet ordering

Hwang Gop Magoknaru Branch has an open-window storefront, which gives it a sense of openness, and every table has tablet ordering. The weather was cool enough that the open window made it feel airy rather than stuffy. And honestly, gopchang places tend to hold onto smells, right? So the ventilation from the open window was such a plus♡ Jeolla-do low-temperature aged mugeunji (aged kimchi)* Hwang Gop!!!! Just hearing that says it all ^.^ It's a flavor you can trust without even trying.

The store is clean, with a sleek vibe unlike a traditional gopchang joint, and every table can order conveniently via tablet.

Hwang Gop's menu: why the mixed platter suits a first visit

Hwang Gop's main menu is gopchang, daechang (large intestine), and makchang (rectum), plus a motsu-nabe style hot pot option too. Since it was our first time, main menu first!!! Mixed platter, GO!!!!

There's even a proper guide on how to enjoy Hwang Gop haha, so we started step by step like model students^.^ Determined to go all the way to the fried rice!!!!

Free muksabal and yukhoe with the order

Mukusabal and yukhoe, complimentary? Wait what?+.+ Game over hahaha. It was already melting in our mouths ♡ Getting yukhoe — which feels like something you'd normally have to order as a side — for free seems like Hwang Gop's biggest standout feature. Just a taste-sized portion, but the perfect amount for a yukhoe appetizer!

And the yukhoe comes with an egg yolk on top♡

Unlimited banchan at the self-bar

Onion, green onion salad(?), pickled seasoned greens(??) and the like come out as basic banchan to cut through the richness of the fatty gopchang. You can grab more at the self-bar, unlimited. I think I made about 10 trips alongside the gopchang >.<

Finally, the mixed platter!!!! How is it? So generous. The staff member who prepared it explained the order to eat everything in detail too. They say chives are good for women, so I piled on more and more♡

Is it endless because it's sister-in-law time, or endless because it's Hwang Gop? >.< Both the gopchang and the beer just kept going down smoothly. Perfectly rich, and the pickled sides cut through the richness just right, ugh so delicious~~~~~~~~♡ My sister-in-law said she wouldn't eat the plump daechang because she'd worry about gaining weight, so guess who cleaned it all up >.< hahahahahahahaha

Ending the night with egg fried rice

This was our second round of the night and we were already full, but couldn't let the night end without adding egg fried rice too — what would've happened if we hadn't ordered it♡ Of course you can't skip the finishing fried rice~~ We said we'd just take a bite each, but ended up not leaving a single grain hahahahahahahaha.
