Cheese stick and potato skewer snack bar in Songdo: Angry Potato
In short
Angry Potato is a chicken, potato and cheese stick counter in the Basement 1 food court of Hyundai Premium Outlet Songdo (known locally as Songhyeona) in Yeonsu, Incheon. At 2pm on a weekday, a couple ordered the Deep Squad Party Pack for 37,000 won and shared chicken skewers, mini burgers, cheese sticks, mac and cheese, fries and jjondeuk (chewy) potato skewers with 7 self-serve sauces. The husband's favourite was the cheese sticks and the writer's was the chewy potato skewer, so for two people with different tastes the set beats ordering single items.

Where is Angry Potato inside Hyundai Premium Outlet Songdo?
Angry Potato is in the basement 1 food court of Hyundai Premium Outlet Songdo, also known locally as Songhyeona. It's near Burger King, so it wasn't hard to find.
It's a place I'd been seeing a lot on Instagram lately.

It kept showing up on social media so much that I was curious just how good it could be, and it turned out one had opened at the Hyundai Outlet in Songdo, Incheon. So I finally tried the Angry Potato I'd been curious about.

I heard it's a hot spot these days, so I expected crowds, but I visited on a weekday around 2pm, which is a bit of an in-between time.

Even so, quite a few people were waiting to order alongside me. Weekday 2pm and still this busy — I guess it really is popular these days haha.

What comes in the 37,000 won Deep Squad Party Pack, and how long is the wait?
After some deliberation, we ordered the Angry Potato Deep Squad Party Pack for ₩37,000. It took about 8 minutes to come out after ordering. It didn't feel like a long wait, and with so much packed into the set, my anticipation kept building while we waited haha.

The Deep Squad Party Pack really does live up to its name — it's loaded with all kinds of things!

Chicken skewers, mini burgers, cheese sticks, mac and cheese, fries, and sauces — it was basically the full lineup.

The 7-sauce self-serve bar at Angry Potato
What I especially liked was the sauces. There are as many as 7 sauces available, and you can help yourself freely.

For someone like me who loves sauce, this kind of system is amazing haha. There's fun in tasting each one and picking your favorite.
Are Angry Potato's cheese sticks too salty?
First up, the thing I was most curious about — the cheese sticks that are hot right now! They showed up so much on Instagram that I wondered what they could possibly taste like, and once I tried them, I understood why they're popular. The cheese stretches endlessly, and honestly, it was just delicious.

I'd seen quite a few reviews saying they're salty, being an American-style cheese stick, but the ones I had weren't salty at all. If anything, the savory flavor was stronger, so it was easy to eat without feeling heavy. Being chili-flavored also made it feel less greasy. My husband tried one and immediately declared it his pick haha. His favorite was the cheese sticks.

How chewy is the jjondeuk potato skewer?
And my pick was the jjondeuk (chewy) potato skewers! These were exactly my taste.

They look like fries from the outside, but they're totally different when you bite in. They have a chewy texture like dango (rice dumplings), with a savory, slightly sweet potato flavor that was so good. Personally, if you like gnocchi, I think you'd like these too. I actually liked this chewy potato even more than gnocchi haha. So my pick that day was the chewy potato.

The chicken skewers and mini burgers
And it's genuinely a great spot for chicken haha. The batter is so crispy. It's not salty either, leaning more savory, so I kept reaching for more.

It uses chicken thigh meat, so it wasn't dry and had plenty of juice. I could feel the juiciness with each bite, so the chicken was great too. Honestly, if we'd just eaten chicken and cheese sticks the whole time, it might have gotten a bit heavy or repetitive, but having mini burgers in the mix made it work well as a proper meal too.

The mini burgers are truly bite-sized, so they're cute haha. They come in several flavors, so there's fun in picking one at a time, and since they're small, eating a bunch of different things doesn't feel like too much.

Mac and cheese topped with ranch sauce! With so many things to combine, mixing and matching was fun on its own.

Why the party pack works better than single items for two
For a sauce fanatic like me, it was basically heaven. Even eating the same item, switching sauces kept it from getting boring and I kept going back for more. Having tried everything, I get why Angry Potato keeps popping up on Instagram lately. It's not some elaborate dish — the strength is being able to eat a variety of crowd-pleasers like chicken, potato, cheese sticks and mini burgers all at once.

Especially for a pair like us, where one person loves cheese sticks and the other loves potato, the set composition works better. Personally, the chewy potato left the strongest impression on me, and my husband enjoyed the cheese sticks the most.

If you're looking for a Songhyeona restaurant to check out, this seems worth a visit. Especially if you want to try a bit of everything, ordering the set menu rather than a single item gives a better composition and higher satisfaction. I'd recommend Angry Potato at the currently-hot Songdo Hyundai Outlet haha. Next time I go, I think I'll order the chewy potato skewers again.
