Where is Yukjjip near Eungam Station?
Yukjjip (육쯥) is a Korean BBQ restaurant at the start of Bulgwangcheon stream, just 1 minute from Eungam Station Exit 4. It is open daily 12:00–24:00, and there is no parking.
I'm back from Eunpyeong for the first time in ages~~ I wanted to eat by Bulgwangcheon with my mom, so I ran over right after work! Come out of Eungam Station Exit 4 and there it is at the start of the stream: Yukjjip!

It's an aged pork place for pork belly, pork neck and gabeuri-sal (a pork cut near the shoulder), and it didn't exist when I used to live around here, so I think it opened pretty recently~~
What are Yukjjip's 1st and 2nd floors like?
Yukjjip has seats on both the 1st and 2nd floors. The 1st floor had cool air conditioning but got a bit smoky. The big window next to the tables can be opened, but the owner said bugs might come in.
We agreed to meet in the Bulgwangcheon alley, so why isn't she picking up...? ㅠㅠ She said she was on her way, definitely! I got tired of waiting (1 whole minute) and went in first to grab a table, haha. But somehow, even without answering her phone, she found me inside and sat down across from me. Mom, how did you know I was in here? haha

There were seats on the 2nd floor too, and I had no idea. I thought it was only the 1st floor, so we sat there, and the AC is so cool!!!!! But it's full of smoke ㅠㅠ The AC is on, so is it okay to open the window...? There's a big window next to the table, so I asked the owner if we could open it, and he said we could, but lots of bugs might come in. ㅜ Is it just the season for gnats...?
I wanted to open it for some ventilation, but Mom said bugs might come in too, so let's just stay! I wanted to enjoy the fresh breeze, but failed, sob. Still, I think if you go up to the 2nd floor the windows are open and you can enjoy the outside air.
Yukjjip menu and what we ordered for two
If you order the Yukjjip assortment, you get whole pork belly, pork neck and gabeuri-sal together. This day we ordered 2 servings of whole pork belly (₩17,000 × 2), handmade pork rind for ₩7,000, steamed rice for ₩1,000 and soju for ₩3,000.

We wondered about getting the assortment, but we're pork belly lovers more than pork neck or gabeuri-sal fans, so we decided on 2 servings of pork belly only. haha One of us (Mom) says eating at night makes you fat, and one of us (me) says I need to lose weight, so we held back and ordered 2 servings of whole pork belly. But then why did we order pork rind, saying it won't make us fat? ㅋㅋㅋ
- Whole pork belly ₩17,000 × 2 servings
- Handmade pork rind ₩7,000
- Steamed rice ₩1,000
- Soju ₩3,000

With Mom and pork belly it's always Fresh (Chamisul Fresh soju), of course~ they say kids' tastes follow their mom's. Back when Mom drank Chum Churum, I drank Chum Churum too, haha. If Mom drinks Fresh, I drink Fresh~~ Just enough of a drink on the side to cut the pork fat! It's a weekday, so we decided to share just one bottle between the two of us.

Does Yukjjip grill the pork belly for you?
Yes. At Yukjjip, the owner stood beside us and grilled all the whole pork belly. That meant we didn't have to be busy grilling and could chat comfortably.
Two servings of super plump whole pork belly came out!!! The plus of Yukjjip near Eungam Station is that they grill for you, haha. The best. My mom is a god of grilling meat, but she said she was tired, so we came to a place that grills for you. Of course, in the eyes of a grilling master, someone else's grilling might not be quite to her liking, haha. While the meat was grilling Mom got to rest, so I was relaxed too~~

Eggplant came out too, plus garlic scapes pretending to be asparagus, and king oyster mushrooms, haha. I thought, is that asparagus~~ but it was garlic scapes, which is even better, haha. Grilled, they're so good!!!

Side dishes include green onion kimchi, white kimchi, seasoned chive and bean sprouts, and myeongi pickles (pickled wild greens), all things you can eat with the meat.

The reason I like Yukjjip near Eungam Station is that they grill the meat for you >.< The owner pats the pork belly with a king oyster mushroom, and he seems to have some kind of skill, haha.

Thanks to the owner passionately grilling the pork belly beside us, Mom and I could chat with an easy mind!! There were just two of us at a wide table, so nothing splattered on our clothes, haha. We sat well back from the grill.

How much is soju at Yukjjip?
Soju at Yukjjip was ₩3,000. The writer says many places charge ₩5,000 these days, so it was a welcome price.
You can't leave soju out when the pork belly is cooking so nicely, haha. Before it was done, Mom and I had a little shot to rinse our mouths~ Yukjjip's soju is ₩3,000, haha. Amazing. These days it's so hard to find a bar with ₩3,000 soju, right? It's usually ₩5,000 ㄷㄷㄷㄷ For the money of 2 bottles, you can drink 3.

Yukjjip whole pork belly with grilled white kimchi
Yukjjip's pork belly was cut into bite-size pieces to lock in the juices, grilled, then moved to a separate plate. Maybe because it had been in the aging fridge, it looked great right from the start.

The looks are amazing!!! I want to eat it again. Maybe because it was pork belly that had been in the aging fridge.

Grilled eggplant dipped in salt is good too!

The owner grilled all the pork belly and moved it over, and the last two pieces he customized for us, haha. Eat it with salted shrimp on top of grilled white kimchi >< so good, haha.

Do you grill Yukjjip's handmade pork rind yourself?
Yukjjip's handmade pork rind (₩7,000) you grill yourself, but an iron press keeps the oil from splattering, so it's easy. It comes pre-seasoned, so you just dip it in roasted soybean powder.
And the extra pork rind we ordered, ₩7,000. You have to grill it yourself, but there's an iron press, so it didn't splatter and was easy to grill, haha. You just flip and cut it while chatting!!

I didn't expect much from the pork rind, but it was good! It comes seasoned, so just dip it in roasted soybean powder and have a piece at a time as a drinking snack. Perfect.
