Raw beef restaurant in Gasan, Seoul for after-work drinks: Yukhwang
In short
Yukhwang is a yukhoe (raw beef) restaurant on the first floor of Hanra One&One Tower by Gasan Digital Complex Station in Geumcheon, Seoul. On a weekday visit after work, dinner and a drink meant yukhoe bibimbap at 13,000 won and a plate of yukhoe at 27,000 won, served in brassware with laver and pear for wrapping — the best part of the meal. High ceilings and wide gaps between tables make Yukhwang an easy choice for a small gathering or a team dinner too.

I'd been craving yukhoe (raw seasoned beef) for ages, so after work on a weekday I headed to a yukhoe spot near Gasan Digital Complex Station called Yukhwang. I dropped in for dinner and a drink, and honestly the vibe and the food both totally hit my taste, haha!
Where Yukhwang is and when it opens
Yukhwang is on the first floor of Hanra One&One Tower, 101 Gasan Digital 2-ro, Geumcheon-gu, Seoul. Hours are weekdays 11:00–21:00 and Saturdays 11:00–16:00, closed Sundays, and group dinners are also possible.
It's a short walk from Exit 8 of Guro Digital Complex Station to Hanra One&One Tower, where it sits on the first floor. There are so many offices around here that it must get packed with office workers at lunchtime!

Even from the outside it gives off that clean, trustworthy-restaurant smell. Let's head in!
Inside Yukhwang: does it work for a team dinner?
Yukhwang's dining room has high ceilings and generously spaced tables, making it a solid choice for a get-together or group dinner after work. The neat, clean interior caught my eye the moment I walked in!

High ceilings, and it felt clean and comfortable all around — perfect for a relaxed meal. The wide table spacing also made it super suited for a small after-work gathering or a group dinner.
What's on the menu at Yukhwang
Yukhwang's meal menu is built for a satisfying single bowl whether you're dining solo, at lunch, or at dinner. Meal orders come with one free bowl of rice, and takeout is also available!

There's also a hot pot menu that's great for sharing broth when you're dining with others. You can add meat, vegetables, or noodles to your liking, which is a nice plus!
We ordered yukhoe bibimbap and a plate of yukhoe to go with our drinks.
The banchan (side dishes) served with the meal

The default side dishes! That salted seafood on the right in particular is a real rice-thief and soju-thief, haha.
Yukhoe bibimbap, 13,000 won: how does it taste?
Yukhwang's yukhoe bibimbap is 13,000 won and arrives generously piled in a brass bowl. Crisp fresh vegetables and a special sauce make it seriously mouth-watering.

It came out fast after a short wait! I couldn't help but admire the sight of it piled high in the brass bowl. The look of it alone was gorgeous.. total mouth-watering material.
The ratio of rice, yukhoe, and vegetables was spot-on, so every bite was bursting with savory flavor. Plus there was a generous amount of sesame oil, which made it incredibly nutty and rich. Even writing this now, I'm craving it again..

It also came with a side of broth, perfect for cleansing the palate between bites. And then the next dish arrived — the yukhoe!
Yukhoe, 27,000 won: the laver and pear wraps are the highlight
Yukhwang's yukhoe is 27,000 won, served on a wide brass plate topped with vivid red raw beef and an egg yolk. The real highlight is the accompanying spread — laver (dried seaweed), a special sauce with minced garlic and chili paste, julienned pear, minari (water dropwort), and pickled vegetables.

The gleaming red yukhoe is fanned out across the wide brass plate with a fresh yellow yolk sitting right in the center. The beef was genuinely fresh, and the more I chewed, the more that beefy aroma and nuttiness filled my mouth, ㅠ

The real point of this yukhoe is the spread it comes with! A sheet of laver, a special sauce with a touch of minced garlic and chili paste, plus julienned pear, minari, and pickled vegetables, all beautifully arranged.
Pile a big scoop of yukhoe onto a sheet of laver, dip it lightly in the sharp garlic-sesame-oil sauce, and wrap it up with the pear... ..ah, this is exactly why we work so hard, so we can eat good food, right? ㅠ
The nuttiness, sweetness, and sharpness all came together at once, and I couldn't put my chopsticks down. The warm broth that came alongside was clean and light too, perfect for sipping in between!
Final verdict on Yukhwang
No exaggeration, it was so good we scraped both bowls completely clean, haha. My friend who came along said it had been a while since she'd had such clean, nutty yukhoe, and was totally satisfied!
If you're craving fresh yukhoe in Gasan Digital Complex, go for Yukhwang!
