Songdo date café, Colombian natural and matcha cookie: Standard Square
In short
Standard Square is a blue-fronted roastery café on Keonbensia-daero in Songdo-dong, Yeonsu, Incheon. At Standard Square, the writer had a house-roasted Colombia Agua Linda Chiroso Natural (6,500 won), a Nuts Einspänner (6,700 won) and a matcha macadamia s'more cookie baked in-store (4,700 won), all by floor-to-ceiling windows looking onto green trees. What kind of café is Standard Square in Songdo?
Standard Square is a café with a blue exterior in Songdo-dong, Incheon, serving house-roasted beans and desserts baked in the shop. People say Songdo is full of pretty cafés, but honestly, not many of them stick in your memory. Standard Square, though, felt different from the moment I walked in.

The bright blue exterior catches your eye even from far away, and inside, another charm was waiting. It's a place that satisfies coffee lovers and also anyone who just wants to relax in a pretty space!! So today I'm telling you about Standard Square, a place I visited myself and would recommend as a Songdo date spot in Yeonsu.

You can feel the presence of Standard Square before you even get close to the building. The exterior with its blue accents looked so refreshing. I was oddly happy to find such a stylish café hiding in Yeonsu.

Inside Standard Square: is it a good date café?
Inside, big windows let in lots of natural light and you can see green trees outside, which suits a date or some downtime. When I opened the door, sunlight from the windows filled the whole space. The lush trees outside were honestly far more healing than I expected.

With a cup of coffee in front of me, I could just stare out the window and lose track of time. It's great for quietly zoning out, chatting with friends, or coming with your partner.
So if you're looking for a Songdo date spot in Yeonsu, Standard Square is the place that comes to mind first, no need to agonize over a café afterwards.

The clean white and blue, plus green plants, made the whole mood relaxing, and I wanted to stay a long while.

A short-sleeve T-shirt hanging on one side also caught my eye. It was so cute that I looked at it for ages. I don't know if it's for sale or just décor, but I wanted it anyway 🤔🤔🤔
Coffee at Standard Square: house-roasted specialty beans
Standard Square says it uses beans it roasts itself, and the menu has specialty coffees you rarely see at ordinary cafés. This time I had a Colombian natural coffee and a Nuts Einspänner (espresso-style latte topped with cream).

Standard Square is really serious about coffee. They use their own roasted beans, and looking at the menu, there were coffees that are hard to find at a typical café.

Colombia Agua Linda Chiroso Natural (₩6,500)
Out of curiosity I ordered the Colombia Agua Linda Chiroso Natural, ₩6,500. It's a specialty coffee with a floral aroma and subtle notes of strawberry, peach and tropical fruit, and it was distinctive from the very first sip. If you like acidic coffee, you'll probably be quite happy with it. The clean, cool finish left an impression.

Nuts Einspänner (₩6,700)
The Nuts Einspänner was really good too, at ₩6,700. Nutty cream meets a smooth café latte, sweet but not overwhelming, so I kept sipping. I could see why so many people recommend it as a Songdo café.

You could feel the care in even a single cup of coffee, and there's a clear reason why a visit here as a Songdo date in Yeonsu leaves you satisfied. For anyone who loves cafés, it's well worth a visit.
Desserts at Standard Square: s'more cookies baked fresh daily
Standard Square bakes several kinds of handmade s'more cookies in the shop, and this time I had the matcha macadamia cookie (₩4,700). If only the coffee had been good, it wouldn't have stayed in my memory like this. They're serious about desserts too.

There was a variety of handmade s'more cookies, and I picked the matcha macadamia cookie, the last one left when I visited. ₩4,700.

One bite and I knew why it's popular. Sweet and soft, with cream cheese in the middle of the chew and the nuttiness of macadamia on top, the combination was great. What I liked even more was the ingredients.

They bake in the shop with organic flour, grade-1 antibiotic-free eggs, French chocolate and fresh cream, organic sugar and more, which made me trust it even more. It felt like eating a dessert made with good ingredients and real care.

Is Standard Square's seating comfortable for a long stay?
Standard Square has plenty of tables and the seats are comfortable, so sitting for a long time wasn't a problem.

It's good for dropping in after a busy day for a short break, and for spending a relaxed weekend. After visiting, I understood why it's become a word-of-mouth café in Songdo.

Why Standard Square is a great Songdo date café
Standard Square has it all: a lovely space, delicious coffee and desserts made with care. It's a place I'd want to come back to next time I'm in Songdo, and I'm confident recommending it to anyone looking for a date spot in Yeonsu.

Save it as a Songdo date idea, and visit on a day when you're craving a café with a good atmosphere. I think you'll be happy 🍀☘️🌿
