Eoneu Dal (어느달) is a Western restaurant in Jeongmun-dong, Pocheon, Gyeonggi, near Pocheon Art Valley, known as a good-value spot for families with kids. Before pitching a camping tent, the writer stopped at Eoneu Dal for a weekend lunch of beef tomato pasta, the Pasta of the Month abalone pasta and crab risotto; missing the spice setting on the QR menu made the child's pasta come out a little spicy. As long as you plan for the wait, Eoneu Dal satisfies both as a family meal and as a Pocheon date spot.

With a single mala broth, the writer filled an 80-minute weekday lunch with woojeon gaksal beef, skewers, meatballs, glass noodles, fenmozi (chewy sweet potato noodles), a DIY sauce loaded with cilantro, guobaorou (crispy sweet and sour pork), dessert and unlimited drinks. For anyone who loves mala broth and skewers, Sangsangcheom is a highly satisfying hot pot buffet in Songdo.

Uridongne Yeonan Budu Seongnam Main Branch is a sashimi restaurant in Seongnam-dong, Seo-gu, Incheon, known for its flatfish (dodari) sashimi. Family sushi in Songdo: refillable udon & big-cut fish, Sushi Doku

Sushi Doku The Songdo is a sushi restaurant on the 2nd floor of Honesta Mall in Songdo, Yeonsu, Incheon. A longtime regular brought a child and ordered the Premium Sushi Special set for two and the 9,900 won kids' set, open to children up to elementary school age, and was happy with the big cuts of fish, the refillable mini udon and the crisp tempura. Sushi Doku The Songdo has a wait, but tables turn over quickly, making it a sushi restaurant in Songdo well worth choosing for a family meal out.

Donggyeong Sukseong Chamchi (동경숙성참치) is an all-you-can-eat aged tuna restaurant on Nakseomseo-ro in Yonghyeon-dong, Michuhol, Incheon. A couple ordered the Royal set for 2 at dinner and had a pre-meal yam juice, three platters heavy on special cuts, ginkgo skewers, mini udon, tempura and albap (fish roe rice) to finish, and the tuna quality at Donggyeong Sukseong Chamchi stayed consistent through every refill. For aged tuna with no fishy taste that fills you up without breaking the bank, Donggyeong Sukseong Chamchi is an easy recommendation.

Sokcho seafood restaurant with a family snow crab set: Singa Hoetjip

Singa Hoetjip (신가횟집) is a snow crab and raw fish restaurant on Dongmyeonghang-gil in Sokcho, Gangwon. On a three-generation family trip with the writer's mother and child, the family ordered Singa Hoetjip's Snow Crab Special Set A, a course of side dishes, mul-hoe (cold raw fish soup), assorted sashimi, one whole snow crab, fried rice with crab innards and spicy fish stew. The set had dishes for both adult and kid tastes, so the whole family left Singa Hoetjip satisfied.

Guwol-dong abalone restaurant a non-fan husband loved: Jeonbokchon

Jeonbokchon (전복촌) is an abalone set-meal (hanjeongsik) restaurant in Guwol-dong, Namdong-gu, Incheon, near Yesulhoegwan Station. The writer and her husband ordered the abalone set for 2, which brought abalone innards porridge, steamed abalone with gyeou (abalone innards) sauce, raw abalone, vinegared abalone with yuja dressing, seafood nurungji soup, bulgogi and perilla seaweed soup, and even her husband, who doesn't much like abalone, enjoyed it. With the main dishes, side dishes and extras all well balanced, Jeonbokchon is worth recommending for a couple's meal, a meeting between in-laws or a meal with parents.

The writer and her husband ordered the Wagyu Daedo Platter, tasting fresh sirloin, chuck flap and gukhwasal in the order the staff grilled them, then finished with bean sprouts, cabbage and cherry tomatoes grilled in beef fat and doenjang sulbap (rice simmered in soybean-paste broth). Thanks to the rich aged wagyu and attentive service, Dodanga Guwol Main Branch is a place she plans to revisit.

Gangneung makguksu lunch before Shilla Monogram check-in: Samgyori

Samgyori Dongchimi Makguksu Namhangjin branch (삼교리동치미막국수 남항진점) is a dongchimi makguksu (buckwheat noodles in radish water kimchi broth) restaurant in Namhangjin, Gangneung. A couple and their elementary-school child put their names on the Catch Table remote waitlist for a weekday lunch before checking in at Shilla Monogram Gangneung, then shared a large suyuk (boiled pork), one pollock sashimi makguksu and one Hetbahn instant rice; the child devoured the pork and rice, and the noodles tasted fantastic once dressed with the seasoning sauce and perilla oil. Samgyori Dongchimi Makguksu Namhangjin branch is a makguksu restaurant worth returning to for a family lunch in Gangneung with kids.
