Baby-friendly Yeouido gyukatsu restaurant: double gyukatsu at Izawa

Today I'm writing a review of a gyukatsu specialty restaurant near Yeouido Station,

Izawa Yeouido Direct Store

that I went to visit!

Where is Izawa Yeouido Direct Store, and is there parking?

Coming out of Exit 5 of Yeouido Station, the building (Yeouido Jonghap Sangga) is right on your right, and the restaurant is on the 2nd floor — the accessibility is honestly the best!

🚘Parking🚘 If you use the ground parking lot on the 1st floor of the building, you get 1 hour free! (The underground parking lot is paid, just so you know 💡)

You just head into the building!

Come in through the entrance, pass Yeouibapsang, and you'll find the elevator!

Izawa is right there on the 2nd floor!

Get off the elevator and go straight to the right, and Izawa appears!

Turns out this is actually a famous spot that mukbang YouTuber Hiitzbap and singer Lim Young-woong both visited and enjoyed?! Hahaha, my expectations shot up before I even walked in 🫢❤️ There can be a wait during peak meal times, so I'd recommend visiting with a bit of buffer time!!

Inside Izawa: seating and tips for dining with a baby

The interior of Izawa Yeouido Direct Store had that cozy, clean atmosphere unique to Japanese restaurants! We visited this time with our 17-month-old baby, Haram. Unfortunately there wasn't a separate baby chair, but thankfully there was cushy, wide sofa seating, which made it comfortable to sit and eat together with the baby!

On top of that, they thoughtfully brought out baby tableware, which I really appreciated 🥹 And they were so sweet to the baby too

Even though it's not a big shopping mall but a regular commercial building storefront, I could really feel the care for kids, haha.

There are even solo seats set up for people dining alone! Seems like it'd be great not having to feel self-conscious about eating solo at lunch!

Ordering is done through a table kiosk! My kid was busy looking at the parking info ^^... and meanwhile, the food came out!

Double gyukatsu and cold momil: how the meal tasted

This time we ordered Izawa's signature double gyukatsu and momil and enjoyed them together!

First, the gyukatsu — grilling it yourself on the mini charcoal grill to your preferred doneness was such fun, haha.

The basic gyukatsu itself was seasoned just right and savory, so it was delicious even eaten plain 🥹✨

Two sauces come with it — a clean soy sauce base and a sweet, nutty one like peanut sauce! Both were delicious, but personally I preferred the clean soy sauce since it really pulled the gyukatsu's flavor together, haha.

True to its reputation as a spot famous celebrities visit, the meat quality was excellent, and being right in front of the station made the access perfect too! Haram, my husband, and I cleanly polished off a delicious meal, haha.
