Misa, Hanam steak restaurant: anniversary set at 5:30 pm, Bokkeriu

If you're hunting for a restaurant with a good atmosphere for a special day or anniversary, it's hard to know where to go, right? This time I visited Bokkeriu, a well-known date spot in Misa, Hanam. I went right at the weekday dinner opening and it was still full of reservations, so my expectations were even higher.

Where is Bokkeriu and what kind of place is it?

Bokkeriu is a casual dining restaurant at 102-19 Misadong-ro, Hanam-si, Gyeonggi-do, near Misa Rowing Course, selling steak and pasta. It is open daily from 11:30 to 22:00, has parking, and the restrooms are separate for men and women.

Do you need a reservation?

Bokkeriu has a relaxed atmosphere and also offers course meals, so it's a popular spot for dates, birthdays and anniversary dinners. I recommend booking before you go so you can visit without stress.

Parking and a walk nearby

Most people will come by car because of where Misa Rowing Course is, and the parking lot in front of the building was convenient. You can even take a walk nearby after your meal, so it works nicely as a date course.

Bokkeriu's exterior and interior

The exterior looks clean and stylish and stood out even from far away. It used to operate as Teurunang (트루낭) and reopened as Bokkeriu.

Inside, it's spacious and the tables are nicely spaced, so it was easy to talk. Sunlight through the big windows, soft lighting and stylish interior design added to the mood.

It isn't noisy, so I think it would suit not only anniversaries and blind dates but also family gatherings.

Busy even at weekday dinner opening

I arrived at the weekday 5:30 pm dinner opening. I thought it would be quiet, but quite a few tables were already reserved, which surprised me. You could feel it's a restaurant Misa keeps loving.

If you want a relaxed meal at a window seat, I recommend reserving first. The basic table setting was neat and tidy too.

What did we order at Bokkeriu?

Bokkeriu also has a variety of à la carte dishes like steak, pasta and salad, but I chose the steak set. The food comes out in order like a course, so the meal flowed naturally and felt very satisfying.

Bokkeriu steak set: what's in it and how it tastes

The Bokkeriu steak set came with the following:

• Bread & butter
• Soup
• Salad
• Pasta (your choice)
• Steak
• Cake

Kelp-butter focaccia and potato soup

The first thing out was focaccia, warm and soft, and spread with kelp butter it gave a subtle savory depth. The rich flavor, different from regular butter, was impressive.

The warm soup was smooth with a strong potato aroma, a gentle way to start. It wasn't too heavy, just enough to make me look forward to the next dish.

Plum ade

The plum ade we ordered alongside had a subtle plum aroma and a fresh taste, cleansing the palate between dishes. The color was pretty too, great for photos.

Ricotta cheese salad

The salad was a ricotta cheese salad. Fresh vegetables and soft ricotta went well together, and the tangy dressing refreshed my appetite.

Shrimp tomato pasta with two tiger prawns

For pasta I chose the shrimp tomato pasta. Two plump tiger prawns sat on top, and they blended well with the tangy tomato sauce, so it never felt heavy and I enjoyed it to the last bite.

Steak ordered medium

You can choose how your steak is cooked at Bokkeriu, and I asked for medium. It was juicy, and the tender texture was satisfying. Eaten with the garnish on the side, the flavors were well balanced, and it showed the presence you'd expect from the main dish.

Finishing with cheesecake

I finished the meal with a soft cheesecake. It wasn't overly sweet, and I think it would go even better with coffee.

Best of all, after enjoying the whole course I was so full that I didn't think about ordering anything extra.

Is Bokkeriu worth it for an anniversary date?

If you're looking for a Hanam date restaurant with a good atmosphere, I recommend Bokkeriu. It had both the taste and the atmosphere. I'd like to come back next time to try the other à la carte dishes. If you're planning a relaxed meal with someone special on a special day, give it a visit.
