Back at Ryusenso Beomeo Branch near Suseong-gu Office Station after a trip to Japan
Ryusenso Beomeo Branch, a go-to restaurant near Suseong-gu Office Station, is a ramen spot I kept coming back to after my Japan trip. I'd recently traveled to Japan, and even after coming back to Korea, the flavors kept lingering in my mind.

Maybe that's why I wanted to hold onto that lingering feeling from my Japan trip a bit longer — so this time I headed to Ryusenso Beomeo Branch, another favorite near Suseong-gu Office Station.

Located in Beomeo-dong, Ryusenso was easy to get to near Suseong-gu Office Station, and given the area's mix of cram schools and government offices, it worked well both for a quick solo meal and a light family outing.

Bar seats and baby chairs: inside Ryusenso Beomeo Branch
Following the lingering mood from my Japan trip led me to this restaurant near Beomeo Station, and the interior of Ryusenso Beomeo Branch was bigger than I expected. There were dachi bar seats good for solo dining as well as comfortable tables, and a baby chair set up in one corner made it look like a great spot to visit with kids too.

I imagine plenty of people near Suseong-gu Office Station are looking for somewhere to eat alone, and the vibe here felt easy enough for a comfortable solo bowl of ramen.

What we ordered at Ryusenso Beomeo Branch
- Ryusenso ramen
- Ryusenso ebi miso
- Katsudon
- Tori karaage

Since I came with the kids that day, we ordered a bit of everything — ramen, a rice bowl, and side dishes.

Ryusenso ramen: rich tonkotsu broth with a spoonful of garlic
Ryusenso ramen is the basic tonkotsu ramen (pork bone broth ramen). The broth had a rich, deep flavor, and adding a spoonful of garlic to it gave it a slightly more Korean-style twist that I really enjoyed.

The rich tonkotsu broth paired surprisingly well with the garlic, so much so that I ended up adding extra noodles too.

It was exactly the kind of rich ramen flavor that hits the spot when you're craving the ramen you had in Japan, without any pressure.

Ryusenso ebi miso: shrimp broth where the onion is the real kick
Ryusenso ebi miso is a miso ramen with a shrimp broth base. The chunky, square-cut onions were really the kick here — the sharp yet crunchy onion flavor blended so well with the rich broth that I kept going back for more soup. The miso broth carrying that shrimp aroma was also lovely, and the shrimp tempura mixed in was a real treat, so there was a lot of variety of flavor packed into one bowl.

Katsudon and tori karaage, the two dishes the kids loved
Katsudon (breaded pork cutlet rice bowl) was perfect for the kids. The crispy pork cutlet paired with the sweet-and-savory sauce made it easy for them to enjoy.
But the dish the kids actually liked even more than the pork cutlet that day was the tori karaage (Japanese fried chicken)! Crispy outside and juicy inside, every bite was delicious, and it came with two different sauces, which made it fun to pick and choose depending on your mood. It was a great side to pair with the ramen when ordering just ramen felt like not quite enough.
