Eungam Korean BBQ day drinking with mom for under ₩100,000: Yukjjip

In short

Yukjjip is a Korean BBQ restaurant specializing in Jirisan-aged pork, located by Bulgwangcheon stream near exit 4 of Eungam Station in Eunpyeong, Seoul, where staff grill the meat for you. The writer visited Yukjjip with her mom at 2pm on a Tuesday. They ordered signature pork neck, gabrisal (pork cap), handmade pork skin, yeolmu bibim guksu (spicy young radish noodles) and yeol sundubu jjigae (spicy soft tofu stew), plus three bottles of Chungha rice wine, and ate at the semi-outdoor first-floor seats overlooking Bulgwangcheon. Verdict: the two of them spent under ₩100,000, making Yukjjip a great-value Korean BBQ spot near Eungam Station.

Eungam Station's Yukjjip, a weekday afternoon Korean BBQ spot by Bulgwangcheon stream with mom

Yukjjip is a Korean BBQ (Korean barbecue) restaurant right on Bulgwangcheon stream, just 2 minutes from exit 4 of Eungam Station. Around 2pm on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, I met up with my mom on her day off and we went back to the neighborhood where we used to live together before I got married. We used to pass through here all the time, so coming back after so long brought back old memories — it was nice haha. We were just planning to eat and chat, but that day I was craving meat, so we visited Yukjjip near Eungam Station. It was close to the station, so easy to find.

Yukjjip hours, reservations, and parking

Yukjjip near Eungam Station is open daily from 12:00 to 24:00 with last order at 23:30. They said you can also book a specific time slot through the Naver reservation system. I visited on a weekday afternoon and just walked in without reserving. But if you're planning to visit on a weekend or in the evening, it seems like a good idea to book ahead. Also, if there's a wait, tables are run on a 100-minute limit, so keep that in mind before visiting.

There's no dedicated parking space for the restaurant, so if you're driving you'll need to use a nearby public parking lot, and parking fees aren't supported separately. My mom and I came by public transportation.

Yukjjip apparently serves Jirisan-aged meat with that charcoal-fire aroma still intact. What I especially liked was the grilling service where staff cook the meat for you, so you don't have to be busy grilling while trying to eat. It seemed like a popular spot for family outings, work dinners, and group gatherings too.

Interior and restrooms

Since Yukjjip's space is split between the 1st and 2nd floors, it felt overall spacious and pleasant. There were already quite a few people eating when we arrived, and we just took a table on the first floor. The restrooms were separate — men's on the first floor, women's on the second — and both were clean and well-kept, so I could use them worry-free.

First order: two servings of Yukjjip's signature pork neck and discounted beer

For our first order at Yukjjip, we got two servings of the signature pork neck, 180g for ₩17,000. There was a tablet PC menu at the table, so we could take our time browsing and order comfortably, and disposable aprons were provided too in case we needed them while eating meat.

We also ordered a bottle of beer, and Terra was ₩2,000. I actually wasn't planning to drink that day. But then I saw the discount event — soju for ₩1,000, bottled beer for ₩2,000 — and how could I not drink after seeing that, haha.

So in the end we ordered a bottle of beer too. And while writing this post, I found out that this discount event has been extended until October 31. Something to keep in mind if you're planning to visit.

Once we ordered the meat, a staff member started grilling it for us right away. Along with the pork neck, they also grilled garlic scapes and king oyster mushrooms, and served it with myeoljeot (fermented anchovy sauce).

Is there a free doenjang jjigae service before 6pm?

At Yukjjip, if you visit before 6pm you can get either doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) or handmade sausage for free, so we chose the doenjang jjigae. Just note that Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays are excluded from this.

The doenjang jjigae came out pretty quickly, and I tried a spoonful right away — it was really good, haha.

We ended up adding rice too, and my mom and I each had a bowl. Rice was ₩1,000 each. For side dishes we got green onion kimchi, mountain garlic leaves, and white kimchi, all neatly presented and delicious. The meat came with salt and ssamjang (dipping sauce) to dip into, plus dried salted shrimp and raw garlic on the side so we could add whatever we liked.

How does Yukjjip's signature pork neck taste?

Yukjjip's signature pork neck was moist and full of juice, with none of that dry feeling. Chatting with my mom about this and that, the pork neck cooked through before we knew it, and taking a bite of a well-grilled piece — the juiciness was seriously amazing.

It's pork neck, but there was no dryness at all, moist and full of meaty flavor the more you chewed — the kind of taste that naturally makes you think of beer, haha.

Dipping juicy pork neck into ssamjang

It was tasty dipped lightly in salt, but I also really liked it dipped in ssamjang. Sitting with my mom after a long time, eating a piece of meat here and there while talking — moments like this are just really nice haha.

The semi-outdoor first floor seats with a view of Bulgwangcheon stream

The seats we sat at on Yukjjip's first floor had a semi-outdoor feel, which I also liked. When we arrived the sun was a bit strong, but as time passed it got cool and pleasant, and we could see Bulgwangcheon stream out front, so the seat itself was pretty good.

Extra order: Yukjjip's gabrisal 150g and Chungha

It felt like a bit much to stop after just the pork neck, so we added a serving of Yukjjip's gabrisal, 150g for ₩17,000. Gabrisal is commonly called that cut of pork, and apparently only about 200g comes from a whole pig, making it a rare cut. It's known for its chewy texture, so I was curious and gave it a try. It was thinly sliced so it cooked quickly, and the staff grilled it beautifully again haha.

Gabrisal wasn't purely lean meat but had a bit of fat, giving it a chewy yet savory quality that I personally thought would pair really well with drinks. And sure enough, eating it with alcohol was perfect. At this point I wanted to drink a bit more, so this time I ordered Chungha (a Korean rice wine). It was ₩4,000 a bottle, which surprised me — cheaper than I expected compared to prices at other restaurants these days.

A bottle of Chungha ordered alongside the gabrisal

Come to think of it, we ended up drinking three whole bottles of Chungha that day haha. Catching up with my mom after so long, I guess we lost track of time. And this wasn't even the end haha.

An extra order of Yukjjip's hand-cut pork skin

Hand-cut pork skin for ₩7,000, a drinking snack dipped in soybean powder

Yukjjip's hand-cut pork skin is ₩7,000 per serving. Staff grill the pork skin to just the right point, and then we cut it ourselves at the end — they grilled it perfectly right up to the moment before cutting, so it was easy to cut and eat right away.

There was none of that distinct smell pork skin can have, and the chewy texture was nice — it was seasoned lightly, so it was tasty even eaten plain.

On top of that, they gave us soybean powder to dip it in, and it was seriously the perfect drinking snack. After eating so much meat, I started craving a side dish, so I also ordered the yeolmu (young radish) bibim noodles for ₩6,000.

Handmade sausage from the review event

We took part in Yukjjip's review event and got a handmade sausage, which we grilled and shared — this was seriously delicious too.

Rather than being strongly salty, it had that savory umami flavor unique to ham, so it was tasty on its own without needing ketchup.

Yeolmu bibim noodles that paired well with the pork skin

Yukjjip's yeolmu bibim noodles (₩6,000) — why were they so good, haha. The seasoning wasn't too spicy or sour, just the right balance of spicy-sweet, and it went really well paired with the pork skin.

Having a bite of the bibim noodles in the middle of eating meat felt like it refreshed our palate. Catching up with my mom, eating, drinking, and having our fill of meat — that day just felt good, haha. I was planning to wrap up around here, but after downing three bottles of Chungha, I suddenly started craving a spicy hot soup, haha.

The final order of spicy soft tofu stew made less spicy

Finishing with spicy soft tofu stew — can the spice level be adjusted?

Yukjjip's spicy soft tofu stew is ₩7,000 and the spice level can be adjusted. In the end we ordered the spicy soft tofu stew as our last dish, asking for it less spicy. A soft tofu stew where you can adjust the spice level like that — I thought that was a thoughtful touch. Spooning up the hot soup until the very end while chatting with my mom, quite a lot of time had passed before we knew it.

How much did it cost for the two of us to eat this much?

Two servings of pork neck, gabrisal, hand-cut pork skin, yeolmu bibim noodles, spicy soft tofu stew, plus one bottle of beer and three bottles of Chungha — when we checked out, it came to under ₩100,000, which surprised me all over again. We ate a wide variety of dishes and drank on top of it, so for that, I thought it was a pretty good-value spot.

Above all, all the staff were kind, and having the meat grilled for us meant we could eat comfortably while chatting with each other. My mom, having meat after a while, said it was delicious and really enjoyed her meal. I was also happy to have some good meat and a drink with my mom after a long time, with plenty of conversation.

The Yukjjip table cleared after mother and daughter finished eating

We ordered a wide variety of dishes, and the two of us finished everything without leaving anything behind haha. Overall the food was tasty and the staff were kind, so we had a really pleasant meal. I looked it up and found out Yukjjip also has locations in Jaeul and Nokbeon. Since they have branches in Eunpyeong-gu and Seodaemun-gu, it might be worth visiting whichever branch is closer to you.

Pros and cons summary

  • Pros: Staff grilled the meat for us directly, the food was tasty overall, and the prices weren't burdensome, which I liked.
  • Cons: Nothing particularly disappointing — next time I'd like to try the pork belly or skirt meat we didn't get to have.
  • Recommendation: If you want to enjoy tasty aged meat comfortably near Eungam Station or in Eunpyeong-gu, Yukjjip is worth a visit.
