Suwon soup spot: Jeju squid mulhoe with Korean melon, Jeju Eunhuine
In short
Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch is a haejangguk (hangover soup) restaurant near Exit 8 of City Hall Station in Suwon that also serves a summer-only Jeju-style squid mulhoe (cold raw squid soup). On a Monday lunch the writer had the Jeju-style squid mulhoe, offal soup and a small dombe pork (boiled pork slices), and the doenjang-broth mulhoe with thinly sliced Korean melon was crunchy and sweet. Order haejangguk to settle your stomach, and order the squid mulhoe at Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk when you want something different.

Monday lunch at Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk near Suwon City Hall Station
Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch is a great hangover soup (haejangguk) spot near Suwon City Hall. It was a Monday after a weekend... maybe I was just worn out? Either way I was craving a piping hot bowl of haejangguk, so off I went to Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk!

It's a great hangover soup spot near Suwon City Hall.

Parking and atmosphere at Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch
There's a parking lot right in front, so parking is easy, and office workers nearby can just walk over~ The restaurant has high ceilings and nicely spaced tables!!

A roomy, comfortable haejangguk place with no stuffiness!! It's cool the moment you walk in!! Eating steaming hot haejangguk in a place like this, you think, wow, what a great lunch!! But, I came for haejangguk and then spotted a squid mulhoe menu board at the entrance!!!

Oh! Then I have to get the squid mulhoe!! Jeju squid and loads of fresh vegetables in a savory doenjang (fermented soybean paste) broth! Jeju-style squid mulhoe is on!

What we ordered: squid mulhoe, offal soup and small dombe pork
At Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk we ordered the Jeju-style squid mulhoe and the offal soup, plus a small dombe pork for some protein!! There are aprons hanging all over the walls, so office workers should definitely grab one.

Basic side dishes come to the table, and you can get extra ones from the self-serve bar. Maybe because it's a haejangguk specialist, but the kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi) was totally my style!! Slightly sweet!!!

Perfect for my taste!! For the haejangguk and offal soup you can choose whether to include ox blood (seonji), and we left it out!! The food comes out one dish at a time.

Small dombe pork: a good tasting size for two
The small dombe pork at Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk is a good lunch-for-two tasting portion! It's tender and soft, and really tasty. Meat is always good, right? Wrap-friendly greens come with it, so you can make ssam (lettuce wraps), or dip the pork in the special sauce (sweet and salty with a slight kick up the nose) and it's delicious either way!!

Do you still get rice if you order mulhoe?
At Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk, rice is unlimited when each person orders one menu item, so I was surprised that a bowl of rice came even though I ordered mulhoe! If the bowl feels a bit small, you can refill at the self-serve bar.
Offal soup: spicy broth loaded with tripe and radish greens
Piping hot offal soup!

The offal soup at Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk is a standout, with a spicy broth full of yang (beef tripe) and siraegi (dried radish greens)!! You can mix the rice into the broth, or eat it separately since the rice comes in its own bowl, and either way it's a soup that settles your stomach!!

I liked that there's a lot of solid ingredients in it.
How does the Jeju-style squid mulhoe taste? Korean melon in doenjang broth
The Jeju-style squid mulhoe at Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk is the absolute best when it's hot out! Wow!

The broth has a nice balance of sourness, sweetness and spiciness, and since it's Jeju-style, I was told it has doenjang in it.. It's packed with squid cut long and easy to eat!! It comes with broth ice too, so you can keep it nice and cold!

It's full of all kinds of vegetables, so wow! Best! Just the vegetables and squid could even work as a diet meal! (If you don't drink the broth!!!) The crunchy texture goes so well with the squid.. but as I ate, I came across something and thought, what is this??

It looked like something gourd-like with the seeds scooped out, thinly sliced! I tried it and wow! It was chamoe (Korean melon). Melon in mulhoe.. that's so good?

The crunch and sweetness of the melon go really well with the squid mulhoe. I bet it'd be good in homemade mulnaengmyeon or bibimnaengmyeon (cold noodles) too!! Good idea! The catch is that the squid mulhoe at Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk is a summer seasonal menu, so you can only have it when it's hot!!

When you want something to settle your stomach, get the haejangguk!! When you want a different kind of treat, I recommend the squid mulhoe.
