Seongsu dessert café Childish at 4pm: milk-only mango bingsu
In short
Childish is a handmade dessert café on the second floor at 114 Yeonmujang-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul. Stopping in at 4pm during a shopping trip, the writer ordered the 900-won mini salted bread (minimum three per order), the salted bread x taiyaki, a mango bingsu made with 100% milk and no condensed milk, and a yakult slush. If you want desserts that sit lightly, made with rice flour and unsalted butter, Childish is worth the trip.

Today I found a really healthy, really delicious dessert café in Seongsu that I absolutely loved. It's called 'Childish.'
There are so many dessert cafés these days, right? Especially in Seongsu — there are just so many,,? Childish is apparently a handmade dessert specialty shop where every single bakery item is made in-house. Alright, let's get into the review!
Where Childish is in Seongsu, and its opening hours
- 🚘 Use nearby parking lots
- 🕐 Daily 11:00–21:00
- 📍 114 Yeonmujang-gil, 2nd floor, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, South Korea

It's a 10-minute walk from Seongsu Station Exit 3! It's right near a hot shopping strip with Subdued, Brand Melville, NewNew, Musinsa, and more, so it's the perfect spot to stop by when you're tired from shopping.

I originally wanted to show you the inside of the shop too, but,, there were way more customers than I expected, so taking interior photos just wasn't possible! Proof this place is a popular Seongsu café!

900-won mini salted bread: is any left at 4pm?
Since this place is famous for its salted taiyaki, I figured the salted bread would be good too, so I bought some of these mini salted breads! You can order a minimum of 3! ₩900 each!

We visited around 4pm, and a lot of the bread had already sold out,,! If you want to get some bread, it seems best to go a bit earlier!

But surprisingly, they actually have a patent for their salted taiyaki manufacturing method,, is this the original salted taiyaki shop,,?! Seeing the patent certificate hung up on the wall really builds trust!

What we ordered at Childish, and the rice flour dough
Here's what we ordered.
- Mango bingsu
- Mini salted bread
- Yakult slush
- Salted taiyaki

Childish's biggest charm is definitely its 'healthy ingredients.' Apparently all of their salted bread items use rice flour instead of regular flour, and are made with 100% milk-fat unsalted butter and low-gluten flour.

For people who usually feel bloated after eating flour-based food, or those with sensitive stomachs, and even as a snack for young kids, it seemed like something you could feed people without worry! Plus, since it's made purely without artificial additives, the bread's natural, clean, nutty flavor really came through!

Salted bread x taiyaki: sweet and salty, straight from the iron
The shop has a lot of unique taiyaki menus! Classic taiyaki (red bean/custard), salted bread x taiyaki, pizza salted taiyaki, mammoth chewy salted taiyaki. I ordered the most fundamental one — the salted bread x taiyaki!
You have to try this here,, because the rice-flour texture gives you a crispy outside and chewy inside, and combined with the flavor of the unsalted butter, it's the definition of sweet-and-salty! And since they bake it fresh the moment you order, you get to eat freshly baked salted taiyaki! You know freshly baked bread is never not delicious, right..?

How to make Childish salted bread taste even better
Next up, the mini salted bread. So cute, right,,? Like a little doll.
❗️Tip! Since it's handmade bread with no additives, it's best eaten the day you buy it, but if you took it to go or are eating it the next day, try freezing it and then popping it in the air fryer for a bit! It keeps that crispy, moist just-baked texture, so you can enjoy it even more. And eating it with Tico or ice cream is absolutely dreamy,,

Mango bingsu made with 100% milk and no condensed milk
Childish is apparently just as talked-about in Seongsu for its mango bingsu (shaved ice dessert) as it is for its salted taiyaki! Normally bingsu is loaded with sweet condensed milk or artificial syrup, which can get overwhelming or too sweet after a while,, but Childish apparently uses zero condensed milk and makes its bingsu with 100% pure milk only. You know how rare that is these days, right,,?

The visuals were overwhelming — genuinely ripe fresh mango piled on top whole, smelling amazing.🥭 The soft, nutty flavor of the pure milk ice blended cleanly with the natural sweetness of the fresh mango without being overly sweet, so I could eat it all the way through without getting tired of it! A menu people of all ages really love! Honestly, almost every table had mango bingsu haha.

Yakult slush for when shopping wears you out
A good dessert needs a good drink, right? I'd already had an iced americano, and,, after a few hours of shopping I needed something sweet and tangy, so it was perfect timing that they had a yakult slush — and ordering it was a genius move!
The moment that sweet-tangy slush hit, my energy shot right back up haha (I actually went right back out shopping again hahaha) When you're worn out in crowded Seongsu,, the yakult slush is the absolute best,,
Is Childish worth a stop in Seongsu?
Today I introduced Seongsu's 'Childish.' True to their slogan of 'serving healthy dessert that's delicious and reasonably priced,' this is a place that nailed both carefully chosen ingredients and fair pricing. If you're looking for a gentle-on-the-stomach dessert, a worry-free snack, or you want to try genuinely delicious mango bingsu and unique taiyaki in Seongsu, I highly recommend Childish!
