I went to Dangsan Odol Bangi Branch (당산오돌 방이점) not long ago, and I was so happy with everything from the taste to the atmosphere that I had to write a review. I booked a table before going.

Is Dangsan Odol Bangi Branch good for company dinners or family meals?

The space is large, the tables are nicely spaced, and when the doors are opened there's a group room for up to 36 people, so it looked great for company dinners and family meals. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was how wide and pleasant the space was. Everything was super clean.

If you're looking for a place for a company dinner, I'd recommend it even more! As in the photos, there's a group room behind the doors, which looked perfect for a work dinner or a family meal. There's also a parking lot, so people coming by car can visit comfortably. Parking matters a lot when choosing a place for a group meal, and they've got that covered too. Nice!

What are the table setting and side dishes like when you reserve?

When I booked and arrived, the side dishes, tableware and drinking glasses were already set on the table, and they even prepared baby tableware for my child. It made me feel really looked after.

The side dishes were onion pickle, pickled radish wraps, seasoned radish, pickled perilla leaves, plus fresh lettuce, wasabi, ssamjang (seasoned dipping paste) and garlic. And they prepared baby tableware, what a thoughtful touch! If you run out of sides, you can get more at the side dish corner. The fridge is full of drinks and alcohol, and the stacked grill plates have a homey feel, as you'd expect from a popular Bangi Station spot.

How are the charcoal-grilled meat and portions at Dangsan Odol Bangi Branch?

The charcoal is good here, and the meat we grilled was full of juice with quite generous portions. Every time I come to Dangsan Odol I notice the charcoal is good, as you'd expect from a popular BBQ place near Bangi Station.

Sizzle! I lay the meat on the grill. Look at it cooking, T_T it looks so tempting, doesn't it? It cuts the greasiness and finishes the meal cleanly, so I really recommend it.

I was surprised by how juicy it was when I tasted it. It was so plump that I figured it would be good just from watching it grill... Tender texture and juicy too, T_T it was really so good. And the portion was pretty big!! Lots of BBQ places give small portions these days, so I loved that the portions here are generous.

Kid-friendly menu: steamed egg and rice

For the meal part we ordered steamed egg (gyeran-jjim) and rice, and the egg was not salty, just seasoned right, so it was good to eat with my child. I liked that there were many kinds of side dishes, and even better that you can get more from the self-service bar at the back if you run short.

After non-stop meat and wraps, we ordered steamed egg and rice to round out the meal. The fluffy, soft steamed egg arrived! It wasn't salty and was seasoned just right, so it was good to eat with my child.

Put seasoned radish on fresh lettuce and wrap it up: the seasoning and vegetables come together and cut the meat's greasiness. Magic!

How much is kkodeulsal at Dangsan Odol Bangi Branch, and what's the texture?

Kkodeulsal (a rare chewy pork cut) at Dangsan Odol Bangi Branch is ₩18,000 for 180g. The texture is a work of art! I hear a pig yields only about 400g of kkodeulsal, a truly rare special cut, and it's chewier than hangjeongsal (pork jowl), so you keep reaching for more.

Layout and atmosphere of Dangsan Odol Bangi Branch

There are 4-person tables to the left of the entrance, a wide hall continues inside, and further back there's group seating for 16 to 32 people. It's hard to find a BBQ place near Bangi Station with its own parking lot, let alone valet, but Dangsan Odol has valet parking.

Since it's a popular Bangi Station restaurant, I heard many celebrities visit too. With its light floors, wood-tone tables and chairs and warm lighting, it felt like being invited to someone's home (gajeong), even though it's a BBQ place. With group seating, it's also perfect for a company dinner near Bangi Station or a gathering in Bangi-dong.

The staff were really friendly too..! Every time I ordered or asked for something extra, they responded quickly and brightly, which made the meal even more enjoyable.
