I was running errands near Yeouido the other day when I suddenly got a huge craving for Korean snack food and went looking for a tteokbokki (spicy rice cake) place — that's how I ended up at Hyeonseonine! I'd been to the Yongsan branch once before and it was so good I kept meaning to go back, and it turns out there's one in Yeouido too haha. I thought about eating in, but I really wanted to watch TV at home while eating, so I ordered the Hyeonseon Combo Set for takeout!
How to reach Hyeonseonine Premium at IFC Mall from Yeouido Station
Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch is on basement level 2 of IFC Mall, connected directly to the subway station, so it was easy to find.

Come out toward Exit 3 of Yeouido Station and there's a really long moving walkway leading into IFC Mall — follow it along and you'll spot Hyeonseonine right beside it!

When I went to order there was already a bit of a line, so I had to wait haha.

What's in the Hyeonseon Combo Set, the price and the takeout wait
Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch has a kiosk right at the entrance, so ordering was simple. I got the Hyeonseon Combo Set! It comes with tteokbokki, sundae (Korean blood sausage), mini gimbap, assorted fried snacks, and an added drink — serving 3 people for ₩25,000, which felt like great value. The takeout wait wasn't long either; I had my food in under 5 minutes.

Is the takeout still crispy after an hour on the subway?
It took about an hour to get home with the takeout since I was riding the subway.

I worried the food might be cold or soggy by the time I opened it, but it was still warm and the fried snacks were still so crispy — I loved it!!

Mild tteokbokki at Hyeonseonine: wheat rice cakes in plenty of sauce
At Hyeonseonine you can choose your spice level when ordering, and since I didn't want anything too spicy or intense, I went with mild! The tteokbokki had just the right amount of spicy-sweet sauce flavor — so good! Because the rice cakes were made of wheat (milddeok), the seasoning didn't just sit on the surface but soaked all the way through, and the texture was really chewy too. There was also plenty of sauce left over, enough to dip the sundae, fried snacks, and gimbap in.

Assorted fried snacks, from fried mandu to kimmari (seaweed noodle rolls)
The assorted fried snacks were packed with fried mandu (dumplings), sweet potato fritters, vegetable fritters, squid fritters, kimmari (seaweed rice noodle rolls), and more, and even though quite a bit of time had passed since packing, none of it had gone soggy — still crispy and really delicious! I think they must have drained the oil well before packing, because it wasn't greasy no matter how much I ate, and dipping it in the tteokbokki sauce was such a great combo.

Sundae (blood sausage): no gamey smell, lightly seasoned
The sundae had absolutely no gamey smell and a nice chewy texture! The liver pieces were also sliced thinner than at other snack restaurants, which made it easier to eat — sometimes when the liver is cut too thick it gets dry and hard to eat. Eaten plain with a light dip in salt, it was clean and savory, and dipped in the tteokbokki sauce it soaked up that spicy-sweet flavor and tasted even better.

Mini gimbap: the unexpected star of the combo set
Honestly, since it was just labeled mini gimbap, I didn't expect much — but it turned out to be a real scene-stealer! It was a basic-style gimbap (seaweed rice roll) packed generously with standard ingredients, and since the seasoning wasn't too strong, it balanced things out perfectly when eaten alongside the spicy-sweet tteokbokki or fried snacks. Plus there was this subtle sesame oil aroma throughout that made it even better!
How many people does the Hyeonseon Combo Set takeout feed?
One Hyeonseon Combo Set order has enough food to comfortably fill up 2–3 people, so I think it's excellent value too. Overall none of the seasoning was overdone or too intense — it was clean, which made for a really satisfying meal.
For office workers in Yeouido or anyone visiting IFC Mall who's craving some light Korean snack food, I'd strongly recommend Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch as a Yeouido tteokbokki restaurant!
