What were the salon's atmosphere and consultation like?

The interior is done in wood tones, so it felt warm and calm, and there's a consultation room right next to the entrance, so we started with a consultation!

✔️ First I filled out a skin consultation chart. It was more thorough than I expected, covering daily habits, work environment, history of skin procedures, the cosmetics I use, health conditions and more. They also brought me a warm tea while I filled it out, so the consultation felt really relaxed..🍵🤍

Why small-face care includes décolleté and back work

Sumiwon's small-face care isn't just about the face. Décolleté (the chest and neckline area) and back work are included too. The manager (대리) who did my treatment also handled the consultation, and she explained that loosening the back line and getting it balanced helps with facial asymmetry and keeps circulation flowing overall ✨

What is the order of the small-face care session?

The treatment rooms are private single rooms, which made it nice and private,

A button-free treatment gown and no hairband

One thing that impressed me: the treatment gown isn't a regular button-up robe!✨ Sumiwon uses a button-free piece of white cloth. They explained that it's partly for hygiene, but also so the body isn't put under any unnecessary pressure. In line with their philosophy of minimizing pressure, they didn't use a hairband during the treatment either. It might seem like a small thing, but I could feel Sumiwon's care philosophy in details like this, which really stuck with me 👀

After cleansing: front shoulders, collarbone and back, gently

They first cleansed off my makeup, then began by gently loosening the front shoulder line, the collarbone line and the back 💆🏻‍♀️ It wasn't the kind of treatment that causes pain with hard pressure; it was gentle and felt like it was helping overall circulation. They also said they avoid treatments that irritate the skin for too long 🙂

Was the radiofrequency facial painful?

Next they applied gel to my face and used a radiofrequency device for the small-face care. They treated just one side first and then showed me a mirror, and I was surprised by how visible the difference was 🫢 Doesn't the left side of my face line look a bit more defined and slimmer? ✨

There was nothing harsh or painful about it at all. It felt like a gentle massage with warm stones. They did the other side the same way and finished with a mask 🤍

Before and after: the difference from one session

After the small-face care at Sumiwon, I compared the before and after photos, and my inward-rolled shoulders and forward-head posture looked much better than I expected 👀 My uneven shoulder height looked balanced too, and the collarbone and shoulder lines showed up more clearly, so my whole upper-body line felt much tidier ✨ It was amazing that a single session made this much of a difference. If you worry about facial asymmetry or want a more balanced face line, it's worth trying once 😊
