A hanok café in a Seochon alley: exterior and outdoor seats

Oldsse Seochon (올딧세 서촌) is a hanok café on the Seochon streets. Being tucked into an alley gives it an even cozier, quieter feel. There are also seats outside where you can rest for a bit — perfect if you're taking a stroll through Seochon or out for a run and want to stop by! The exterior of the building is gorgeous too, so it's a great photo spot.

What is the interior of Oldsse Seochon like?

The interior of Oldsse Seochon mixes Korean traditional style with something more exotic — such a unique, cool combo! You can tell they put thought into the furniture, props, even the smallest details, which makes this hanok café even prettier. If you're looking for a beautiful hanok-vibe café to bring a friend from abroad, I'd recommend this one! And it's even better because it's run as an open bar, so you can watch the hand-drip coffee being made.

The menu — true to a coffee-focused spot, it covers various hand-drip options, signature drinks, non-coffee items, and desserts. I was curious about the Dutch baby menu, but it seemed like too much for one person, so I just ordered the signature drink I was curious about. Lots of people seemed to be enjoying the desserts too, so if you visit with someone, I'd recommend ordering one to share!

They had sample drip bags ready, so I grabbed one — planning to steep it in milk next time for a milk coffee! Little touches like this were really nice.

Easy seats for solo visitors, and one drawback

Oldsse Seochon isn't especially large inside, but they seem to have maximized space by lining up long bar-style seats rather than tables. Head further in and there are exactly three table seats, which seemed to be the most popular spot — and it's a place where you can comfortably sit alone without feeling out of place.

I sat in one of the mint-colored chairs, which are pretty eye-catching. They don't have backrests, so staying a long time might be a bit tough, but there's a cushion so it wasn't too uncomfortable! There's also a bag storage box and extra stools, so it seems fine to visit with a group — maybe not a huge crowd, but 4–5 people should be okay!

The unified furniture and materials, plus plants placed throughout, make the atmosphere so pretty that this Seochon café stuck in my memory. The mint color is really the kicker! The exposed rafters look great too, and the soft, low lighting is charming. Who knew such a beautiful café was hiding in a Seochon alley!

How does the signature einspänner taste?

The drink I ordered: einspänner.

Oldsse Seochon's einspänner tops rich drip coffee with lightly whipped cream, and since the cream isn't very sweet, the coffee flavor came through stronger and cleaner. I drank the cream and coffee base together without a straw at first, then mixed them halfway through for a smoother taste — that was nice too. I think adding a bit of salt to the cream could make it even more distinctive and tasty! If you're curious about Oldsse's own signature drink, I'd recommend the einspänner.

Can you bring a dog to Oldsse Seochon?

Oldsse Seochon is dog-friendly, so you can sometimes run into cute dog friends here! That's a nice bonus too..♡ Cute pups seem to visit often!

Is Oldsse Seochon worth a visit?

It's rare to find a café in Seochon that's open this late, let alone one with such great atmosphere — Oldsse Seochon! The space is so serene it's great for a solo café outing, or if you're looking for a hanok-vibe café good for reading or just quietly relaxing, I'd recommend Oldsse Seochon!
