I tend to set up meetups near Sinnonhyeon Station or Gangnam Station a lot, and even though there are plenty of places to go, always having to worry about parking is a pain, haha. Today I found a great-value spot near Sinnonhyeon Station where you don't have to struggle to find parking, so I wanted to introduce it!

Where is Dakgalbijeon Gangnam Branch, and where do you park?

Dakgalbijeon Gangnam Branch is a 3–4 minute walk (about 300m) from Sinnonhyeon Station, so it's really accessible by public transit too. It's tucked slightly off the main strip, so the neighborhood itself is relatively quiet and calm — the perfect vibe for a get-together. If you're looking for a good meetup spot near Sinnonhyeon Station or a Gangnam/Sinnonhyeon restaurant with parking, I'd recommend this one.
Inside Dakgalbijeon: is there room for a group?
The moment you walk in, you see Dakgalbijeon's slogan right away — "The spatula is mine!!" haha. It was even printed on the owner's t-shirt, which was funny, but it also gave off a sense of pride in providing good service.
The space is quite spacious and well set up for group tables. What I liked most was that the tables were spaced pretty far apart, which makes it great for chatting away over good food during a family gathering or work dinner.
Gamssadak and icy nurungji makgeolli: how they tasted
As the name suggests, the signature dish at Dakgalbijeon Gangnam Branch, a great meetup spot near Sinnonhyeon Station, is gamssadak and gamssachidak — a combo of dakgalbi (spicy stir-fried chicken) and jeon (Korean savory pancake).
I ordered the original gamssadak, and also got the refreshing icy nurungji makgeolli (scorched-rice rice wine) to go with it!
First to arrive was the icy nurungji makgeolli! It's hard to tell from the photo, but there really were ice chips floating in it.
Nurungji makgeolli is a signature at Dakgalbijeon Gangnam Branch — the nutty aroma of scorched rice pairs really well with the makgeolli, and more than anything, it paired beautifully with the dakgalbi. The dakgalbi here isn't as sweet or spicy as other chains, so it went well with the makgeolli, and I thought everyone at a gathering could enjoy it without much disagreement.
How to wrap Dakgalbijeon's dakgalbi in potato pancake
Then out came the dakgalbi and the potato pancake! You're meant to wrap the dakgalbi in this potato pancake. I ordered the original without cheese, and since potato pancake can get a bit greasy the more you eat, that turned out to be a good call.
Can you see the color on that potato pancake? Honestly, it was delicious enough to eat on its own.
Just wrap the dakgalbi in the potato pancake like this! The nutty flavor of the pancake and the spicy kick of the dakgalbi worked so well together!
Cheese rice cake add-on and the Naver Reservation 1+1 coupon
It'd be a shame to skip the cheese rice cake I added on, right? There are several add-on options — rice cake, glass noodles, sweet potato, and more — so you can add whatever suits your taste. If you make a Naver Reservation you get a 1+1 coupon, so I'd definitely recommend booking ahead before you go!
Wrapped with pickled radish too! Since the dakgalbi wasn't as sweet as other places, I just kept eating and eating!

I'd recommend Dakgalbijeon Gangnam Branch if you're looking for a good-value meetup spot near Sinnonhyeon Station, or a comfortable restaurant with parking near Gangnam/Sinnonhyeon.
