Yeonnam-dong brunch restaurant, Sunday 2pm walk-in: Hôtel de Couture
In short
Hôtel de Couture is a brunch and Western restaurant on Donggyo-ro 46-gil in Yeonnam-dong, Mapo, Seoul. Peak weekend hours usually mean a wait of about 30 minutes, but arriving around 2pm on a Sunday meant walking straight into a window seat, followed by a burrata seasonal fruit salad (19,000 won), a jambon truffle cream risotto (17,000 won) and an iced americano (5,000 won). A third visit to Hôtel de Couture and still a satisfying sunny-day brunch date course.

Today I'm bringing you my review of Hôtel de Couture, my favorite brunch spot in Yeonnam-dong that I've now visited three times. ✨ The food is great, but honestly it's the atmosphere that keeps pulling me back whenever I'm in the mood for brunch. It's famous on social media for its pretty plating, so it's always a popular spot.

What time to arrive at Hôtel de Couture to skip the weekend wait
Going around 2pm on a Sunday meant I got in right away with no wait at all. I usually go in a little nervous since weekend peak times tend to have long waits, but this time I changed strategy and avoided the peak hours.

If you're planning a weekend visit, I'd recommend avoiding the lunch peak a little. *At weekend peak times, the wait was around 30 minutes.
Inside Hôtel de Couture: the room and the window seats
Walking in, the space is filled with warm sunlight, giving the whole place a calm yet sentimental mood.

Thanks to the pretty charm of the space, it's perfect for a sunny-day brunch date or even a blind date spot. It also seems like a great place to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening, so I'm thinking of coming back for an evening wine date next time!

This time I was seated by the window, which made the meal even more enjoyable. Judging by all the pretty photos on Instagram, it seems foreign tourists come here too. But for me, it's not about the Instagram aesthetic — I keep coming back because I'm won over by the atmosphere and the taste!
What we ordered at Hôtel de Couture and what it cost

The main menu looks like the photo above. Their brunch menu is famous for pasta and toast. What I ordered was,
- ✔️ Burrata seasonal fruit salad: ₩19,000
- ✔️ Jambon truffle cream risotto: ₩17,000
- ✔️ Iced americano: ₩5,000
Burrata seasonal fruit salad, 19,000 won

First up was the burrata seasonal fruit salad! This season's fruit was fresh figs.

The nutty, soft texture of the burrata cheese, the sweet figs, and the crisp romaine came together, and one bite in I thought, "Yep, this is the flavor!"

The crunchy granola was the perfect kick. It's so good that I once bought burrata cheese and tried making the same combination at home — but somehow that particular fresh, deep flavor you get here just never comes out.

I guess a pro's touch and secret combination really is different.
Jambon truffle cream risotto, 17,000 won

Next came the jambon truffle cream risotto, and it passed the visual test right away. Best of all, there was a generous amount of jambon on top, so I got to enjoy meat with every bite down to the last spoonful.

Cream risotto can get heavy after a few bites, but the cream sauce here is deep in flavor without being greasy, so it has that addictive quality where you just keep eating.

The texture of the risotto rice popping slightly in your mouth is also excellent, and maybe it's just me, but the portion felt bigger than my last visit, so I ate quite well.

If you love the smell of truffle, this dish will fully satisfy that craving!
Iced americano, 5,000 won

The iced americano I had alongside the brunch was clean and nutty, refreshing to drink. Sometimes a place has great food but disappointing coffee — Hôtel de Couture nails the coffee too.
Final verdict: who should book brunch at Hôtel de Couture

Spending a pleasant weekend afternoon under the warm sunlight with pretty food made this visit fully satisfying again!
- ✔️ Those looking for a spot with great sunlight and great atmosphere
- ✔️ Those who want a can't-go-wrong brunch date course
If you want a menu that nails both taste and visuals, I highly recommend Hôtel de Couture! 💛
