Yeonnam-dong brunch with honey jambon French toast: Hôtel de Couture

Hôtel de Couture sits on the second floor of an alley in Yeonnam-dong. The name means "Hotel De GGOODD" — the owner added an extra G and D to the French word for "good," meaning to offer an even better atmosphere and food. And true to that, the mood really is good, making it a nice spot for brunch or a date meal.

Where is Hôtel de Couture, and what are the hours?

Hôtel de Couture is located at 7 Donggyo-ro 46-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul, on the second floor (1.5F) of a Yeonnam-dong alley building, open from 11:00 to 20:00. Being up a flight of stairs in the alley gives it an even cozier, more relaxed feel — just walk up the stairs and Hôtel de Couture is right there.

At the top of the stairs there's a sign explaining that guests are seated in order of arrival. It also mentions that the restaurant <Heyjozy> operates in the same space.

Inside Hôtel de Couture: mood and seating

Inside, the space was bigger than expected, stretching further back than it looked from outside, and the tables weren't crowded together — overall a comfortable place to eat.

There's a restroom inside the store too, which is convenient.

Menu and how QR ordering works

Hôtel de Couture serves pasta and brunch-style dishes like salads and toasts, along with drinks that pair well with the food. Once you sit down, you can check the menu and order right away through a QR code — no need to flag down staff, which made ordering easy and relaxed.

After you sit down, staff bring plates and cups to the table, so all that's left is to order.

Honey bacon rosé pasta, 18,000 won

First up, the honey bacon rosé pasta — a rich, thick rosé sauce paired with salty bacon.

True to its name, the bacon on top is coated in honey, giving it a sweet-and-salty balance that made it even more delicious alongside the pasta. The rosé sauce was really thick, with the distinct rich flavor of rosé cream coming through strongly, and it clung nicely to the noodles so every bite was satisfying.

Honey jambon French toast, 14,000 won

Next, a great brunch pick — the honey jambon French toast.

This French toast has sweet honey brushed over the surface, with a rich cream sauce underneath, and is eaten with jambon-beurre and vegetables alongside the bread.

Cutting into the toast, it was moist while still keeping some texture from the bread — crisp outside, soft inside, with a smooth bite.

The best way to eat the French toast is to cut it into small pieces, add a little sauce, and eat it in one bite.

The rocket (arugula) mixed with the sauce had a strong fragrance, and it paired really well with the jambon-beurre and toast. I worried the rosé sauce and cream sauce combo across the two dishes might get heavy, but they tasted different enough from each other that neither felt like too much.

The pickles that came with the meal were nice to snack on between bites too, cleansing the palate for more enjoyment.

Overall, both dishes at Hôtel de Couture were delicious, and the relaxed, comfortable atmosphere made it a pleasant place to eat. If you're in Yeonnam-dong looking for a Western restaurant, Hôtel de Couture is worth a visit.
