Yeonsu spicy webfoot octopus dinner at Haemokjeong, Incheon

In short

Haemokjeong Yeonsu Main Branch is a seafood braised short rib restaurant opposite Yeonsu Station in Incheon. I had two servings of medium-spicy jukkumi-bokkeum with my mom for 28,000 won, mixing it with chives, cabbage, and rice. Haemokjeong Yeonsu Main Branch is a great pick for dates, work dinners, and gatherings near Yeonsu Station.

Just yesterday! I visited Haemokjeong, a great date-night restaurant by Yeonsu Station. It is right across from the station, so I had often spotted it while passing by. Yesterday, I went there with my mom for dinner for the first time in a while!!

Haemokjeong Yeonsu Main Branch: location and parking opposite Yeonsu Station

Haemokjeong, a popular restaurant by Yeonsu Station, is directly across from the station exit. It was so convenient for me to come by subway after work too~

Haemokjeong is a seafood braised short rib specialty restaurant that has appeared on programs from many broadcasters!! They take plenty of group reservations, and the main branch is on the second floor~!

The parking lot is on the first floor of the building. I arrived around 6:30 p.m., and it was already almost full...!! That is how popular this place is!!

Do not worry if it is full~ Even if the first-floor lot is full, you can park in the public lot next door! And yes, parking support is available for up to 3 hours~

Friday evening atmosphere and visitor information

The first thing I saw when I walked inside was something big! Information saying it had appeared on MBC, SBS, YouTube, and all kinds of broadcasts! That made me even more curious~

There was also a huge fish tank beside the counter. I had usually only seen these at sashimi restaurants, so seeing one at a braised short rib specialty restaurant made me curious, you know?!

What really surprised me was that I arrived around 6:30 p.m. on a Friday evening. But it was absolutely packed~~~~. How good must it be for there to be so many people? There were even lots of people waiting.

There are private rooms too, so it seems like lots of people come here for company dinners! Group reservations are possible as well, so please keep that in mind for work dinners or gatherings~!

You can use the self-service bar for side dishes~ Other than the dishes brought to you at first, pick up any extra side dishes you need there. Just take as much as you can eat~ There is an environmental charge for leftover food, so do not get greedy~

More than jukkumi-bokkeum: menu and events

There are so many menu items, right?? Haha. There is agujjim (braised monkfish), braised short ribs, braised beef short ribs, various set menus, plus mild kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) and pork cutlets for kids!!

How to enjoy jukkumi-bokkeum

There was also a sheet explaining how to enjoy Haemokjeong even more deliciously! It says to wrap the various seafood with chives and cheonsachae naengchae (chilled angel-hair noodle salad) in perilla leaves for an even tastier bite!

Instructions for enjoying seafood deliciously

Once you sit down and order, the staff bring out the basic side dishes. Let me introduce them one by one~

First, a salad with savory black sesame dressing! This is also at the self-service bar! Then there is cheonsachae naengchae! This one is not at the self-service bar, but its sharp mustard aroma is so delicious.

Then there are seasoned chives, stir-fried potatoes, pickled chili peppers, and white kimchi.

A delicious, savory miyeokguk comes as a complimentary dish too, and it seemed perfect with the spicy jukkumi-bokkeum~!!

Two servings of medium-spicy jukkumi-bokkeum

Our dinner menu, for my mom and me, was~~ two servings of jukkumi-bokkeum (stir-fried webfoot octopus)! It is ₩14,000 per serving~

It arrives already fully cooked, but they put it over the flame so you can eat it warm. Thanks to that, you can mix rice into the bubbling reduced sauce too.

Kahaha!! Finally, the truly delicious way to eat it!! Put jukkumi-bokkeum, cabbage, and chives over rice, then mix it all up deliciously~~

The webfoot octopus was so plump and chewy that it was fun to bite into. But it was not tough at all—just tender—so I think kids could enjoy it too!

I chose the medium-spicy option and enjoyed it without it being too hot, but if you love spicy food, definitely choose the spicy option~

I tried it the way the restaurant said to eat it, and of course, of course~~~ I am so glad I followed the experts! Hahaha.

For anyone looking for a spot near Yeonsu Station for a date, company dinner, or gathering, it is just perfect! I recommend Haemokjeong Yeonsu Main Branch~!
