There's a big sign right in front of the store, so it wasn't hard to find even on my first visit.
Overall, from the sign to the interior, it felt like a comfortable neighborhood spot for family meals or gatherings with friends. Eel places often have that old-school vibe, but this one was pretty clean and neat, so it was easy to walk in without hesitation.
How much is the eel buffet? 29,900 won per person
The most important thing at Songnim Bok Jangeo Dongnae Branch is of course the unlimited freshwater eel. When I visited, the sign outside the store listed a set of freshwater eel + pork belly + duck neck meat together for ₩29,900.

Eating eel properly usually gets pretty pricey, but here it's unlimited refills, so it's a great place to visit thinking 'today I'm eating my fill of eel!'
What comes with the set: side dishes at Songnim Bok Jangeo

Grilling the freshwater eel over charcoal
Eel really does taste best grilled over charcoal.

They put the eel on the grill and cook it until golden brown — as you can probably tell just from the photo, the oil rises up as it cooks and the outside gets crispy. If you grill eel too long the flesh can get dry, so eating it right when it turns golden brown seems to be the tastiest way.
I picked up a well-cooked piece of eel and dipped it lightly in the sauce — oh wow, the savory, oily flavor unique to eel really comes through.

Eel is especially good with shredded ginger, which cuts through the richness so you keep eating — a combo I kept going back to! Eel bite → ginger shreds → pickles, going back and forth like this, I really just kept eating, haha.
Not just eel: pork belly on the same grill
Honestly, at first I thought 'I came to eat eel today so I should focus on eel,' but there was a catch, haha — pork belly comes along too. While grilling the eel, they put pork belly on as well, and suddenly the grill turned into a full-on meat party.

Pork belly is great grilled crispy and eaten with garlic, baek-kimchi (white kimchi), or pickles. Eating eel, then pork belly, then back to eel, haha — eating this way, there was no time to get tired of any one thing.

If you keep eating just one dish, even if you love it, you can get a little tired of it — but going eel → pork belly → duck neck meat → eel again meant I could keep eating a variety all the way through.
Duck neck meat is unlimited too
And something that was better than I expected: duck neck meat! Honestly I didn't go there thinking about duck neck meat, but once I tried it, it was pretty great.

It has that chewy texture unique to duck, and grilling it over charcoal added a smoky flavor that made it delicious. Dipping the duck neck meat lightly in sauce added a salty-sweet touch, giving it a charm that was different from the eel.

So that day I really came to eat eel and ended up diligently eating duck neck meat too, haha.
The self-serve bar: refills and ginger strips

My favorite combination when eating eel is definitely shredded ginger. Since eel itself is a rich, oily food, the sharp, refreshing taste of ginger makes your mouth feel much cleaner.
Piling on perilla leaves or pickles too makes it a great drinking snack! A piece of eel with ginger shreds and a light dip in sauce gives you savory + sweet-salty + the sharp bite of ginger — that combination really works. If you love eel, you have to try this combo.
Free ramyeon for a Naver receipt review
And here's something I really want to tell you about! I got ramyeon through the Naver receipt review event.
Even after eating your fill of eel and meat, somehow there's always room for ramyeon broth at the end, haha. We ended up eating the ramyeon too. As in the photo, the broth was spicy and had scallions and kimchi in it, making it a nice way to finish off the meat. Especially after charcoal-grilled meat, a spoonful of that spicy broth — ah, that's really the finishing touch, haha.
The Naver receipt review event may change depending on when you visit, so I'd recommend checking with staff whether it's still running before you go.
Eel, pork belly and duck neck for 29,900 won: is it worth it?
The biggest advantage I felt at Songnim Bok Jangeo in Dongnae, Busan was really being able to eat a variety of meats all at once.

Usually when you go out for eel, you order only eel and eat while thinking about the price, but here it's unlimited, so you can lighten the price burden and eat as much as you want! It seems especially good for visiting with family or a group of friends where everyone likes something different — someone likes eel, someone likes pork belly, someone likes duck — you can settle it all in one spot, haha.

If you've held back before because of eel prices, the unlimited-refill setup is a real perk, and I liked that you're not just eating eel over and over but also get pork belly and duck neck meat alongside it.
Personally, my favorite combination was eel with shredded ginger, and the duck neck meat was better than expected too, so I kept reaching for it, haha.
