Jeju photo studio with silver grass couple snaps: Eoeum-ri in Aewol

On this Jeju trip I wanted to properly capture some photos with my husband, so we went to Eoeum-ri Photo Studio!! We came away with a Jeju-vibe-packed result and a good memory, so I'm feeling pretty proud 💚

Where is Eoeum-ri Photo Studio, and where do you park?

Eoeum-ri Photo Studio is a standalone building studio tucked behind the stone walls of Eoeum 10-gil in Aewol-eup, Jeju. We booked 4pm and arrived about 10 minutes early.

There's no big signboard, so just look for the standing sign beneath the stone wall, haha. There's also a really large parking area right across from the studio, which made it convenient to visit with a rental car.

Once you go past the Jeju stone wall, the standalone Eoeum-ri Photo Studio building appears. Trees, grass, and stone walls surround the studio, so I felt that Jeju vibe the moment I arrived 🌿

Inside the studio: how do you choose a course?

Once inside, you first see sample photos and framed prints taken at Eoeum-ri Photo Studio. Looking at what backgrounds and moods other people chose, I started getting curious about what our own photos would turn out like, hahaha.

Courses vary depending on how long you want to shoot and how many backgrounds you want. There's everything from a light snap course to ones using the hackberry tree or a jeep. We went with the 3-cut snap + self-photo course for 60,000 won!

You get about 15 minutes of snap shooting across 3 background concepts, then 20 minutes in the self-studio afterward. Retouched files and 3 printed photos are included, which felt like a pretty solid package for a Jeju trip keepsake.

A self-photo room full of props

Inside, there's a separate self-photo space you can use freely once the outdoor snap is done. From a black sofa to a bicycle, there are plenty of props to use, so instead of just standing still you can go for a bunch of different concepts.

And there are seriously so many props, haha. Flower crowns, headbands, bags, a pony doll, a camera — all sorts, so you just pick whatever you like and use it freely. We decided to save the self-photo part for later and headed out first to meet the photographer for the outdoor snap 📸

Jeju-style shooting spots a 3-minute walk away

Following the photographer about 3 minutes on foot from Eoeum-ri Photo Studio, we arrived at this spot. It's not a crowded famous tourist site but a quiet spot that only locals would really know, which I actually liked even more ❤️ Trees, flowers, old buildings, and stairs each gave off a different mood, so even wearing the same outfit, the photos looked totally different depending on the background.

We shot two backgrounds here first. Neither of us is really the type to pose confidently in front of a camera, hahaha, but the photographer told us exactly where to look and how to stand naturally, guiding our poses and gaze one by one, so it ended up being more comfortable than expected. The shoot moved along quickly without dragging on, so even people who feel awkward being photographed shouldn't feel too much pressure 👏

After finishing the two backgrounds, we headed back toward the studio and took the last photo in the space with the Jeju stone wall. Instead of traveling far, the course uses three different-mood backgrounds right around the studio, so even within a fairly short shooting time we managed to capture quite a variety of looks.

20 minutes of self-photos while the retouching is done

Once the outdoor snap is finished, you head back to the self-photo space we scoped out earlier. While the photographer picks and retouches the photos, we get to freely enjoy the self-photo space for 20 minutes! Instead of just sitting around waiting for retouching, you get to keep shooting and playing, so the time really flies by, hahaha.

You inevitably get a little tense in front of the photographer, but with just the two of us, the self-photos had a different kind of fun. We didn't prepare or change into separate outfits for the shoot — we just wore what we had on that day — but being able to shoot comfortably until we were satisfied made it easy to capture a bunch of natural-looking photos.

We started bringing over the props we'd scoped out earlier and really got into it, haha. Since it's Jeju, of course we brought over the pony doll 🐴, tried on sunglasses, and used various props to take photos. The advantage of this course is that the photographer takes proper couple snaps outdoors, while indoors the two of you can comfortably take self-photos together.

Shooting, retouching and printing in one visit

While we were busy playing around with self-photos, the photographer suddenly appeared with the finished printed photos ✨ We didn't pick which originals to retouch ourselves — it seemed like the photographer selected the best-looking shots and retouched them. My husband touched the print paper and said it felt like good-quality paper, hahaha. Getting it in hand, the photos really did feel sturdy, so I plan to keep them well as a travel memento.

Ta-da ✨ Now let me show you the retouched photos we actually received, one by one. The first has a big patch of silver grass in the background, capturing that autumn Jeju mood perfectly! We didn't work out any poses ourselves, but the photographer naturally guided us into place and I was really satisfied.

The second was taken on the teal-colored stairs! It was shot right after, same day, same outfit, but the mood of the photo completely changed once the location changed. The old stairs between the trees had a subtly vintage feel, giving it a different charm from the first photo.

And my personal favorite is the last stone-wall photo ❤️ With the Jeju stone wall, flowers, and an old roof all captured in one frame, it felt like the most Jeju-like mood out of the three, so this one was my favorite. Even shooting briefly in the same outfit, the mood clearly changed with each background, which made getting three different results genuinely fun.

Even though we're awkward in front of a camera, the photographer guided our poses and gaze well so we could shoot comfortably, and being able to enjoy the outdoor snap, self-photos, and retouching and printing all in one visit was satisfying overall. If you want to leave a slightly special travel photo on your Jeju trip, like a couple photo or family photo, I recommend Eoeum-ri Photo Studio in Aewol :)
