A Dongmyeong-dong Korean BBQ spot where the meat comes out already grilled — convenient, and the whole table set was clean, generous and delicious. For reference, this includes a portion I paid for myself✅

I personally love this place and the food really suits my taste. Since it's dog-friendly, I'm planning to bring my dog along next time.

What comes with the ₩50,000 Auntie's Table set for three

We ordered the Auntie's Table (이모 밥상) for ₩50,000 at Ju Myeongdang, and honestly, three people could enjoy it generously. Japchae (stir-fried glass noodles), kimchi jjigae, bibimbap, and various cuts of meat with a nice charcoal grill aroma — great for a table with drinks too.

The bibimbap had plenty of well-prepared ingredients too. The seasoned vegetables and fried egg came in generous portions.

The kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew) says it all. Spicy, loaded with meat inside, and plenty of solid ingredients. Of course Koreans always come back to kimchi jjigae.

Oh, and the naengmyeon (cold noodles) was also a special treat.

How does the meat taste when it arrives already grilled?

You can wrap Ju Myeongdang's meat in lettuce wraps — no gamey smell, chewy, and there are several different cuts, so it's fun to pick and choose.

Honestly, doesn't it look delicious just from the visuals? Even now, thinking back, my mouth is watering.

Since you don't have to grill the meat yourself, it makes for a clean, light dining-out experience, doesn't it? Dongmyeong-dong BBQ spot for the win.

Bringing a dog to Ju Myeongdang in Dongmyeong-dong, Gwangju

If you're traveling to Gwangju, I imagine most people will end up visiting Dongmyeong-dong at some point. If you're wondering what to eat there, and you want a generous dinner along with drinks, come here. Honestly, since you can enjoy so many different menu items, this was the place that came to mind when I had to decide quickly. Fifty percent of this was paid out of my own pocket — genuinely recommend it!! We also got to use the parking lot for an hour, so we ate and left without a hitch.

Honestly, with policies changing lately, there are hardly any dog-friendly restaurants around anymore. They're hard to find, but luckily this place is a dog-friendly restaurant in Dongmyeong-dong, Gwangju — definitely stop by if you're out on a walk with your dog.
