Why I picked Brivite Seongsu for a meal with my kid in Seongsu
I chose Brivite Seongsu, a pasta restaurant in Seongsu, because I'd read reviews saying the kitchen adjusts ingredients a little when you come with a child. I had to be in Seongsu with my kid and couldn't decide where to eat, so I settled on Brivite Seongsu. Thanks to that, my kid got what they wanted, my younger sister and I got what we wanted, and we all ate so happily that the date turned out perfect.

Recommended dishes and ordering tips at Brivite Seongsu
When a child visits, Brivite Seongsu removes the spice from many dishes, so there's a really wide range of food that works for kids. Still, some dishes can't be changed, so I recommend asking before you order. Personally, if you come with an even number of people, choosing a set menu is the most efficient way to order.

If it's your first visit, I'd recommend the signature dishes. But... for eating with a kid, the Kkangchong-kkangchong Rabbit Pasta and the fries are the best.

After we ordered, I looked around and the place had filled up with people. Food is cooked to order, so we waited about 5-10 minutes, and the dishes came out in order starting with the sides.

How does the self bar work at Brivite Seongsu?
At Brivite Seongsu, you go to the self bar to get your own water and pickles. Trays are set out separately so it's easy to carry things back to your table.

What we ate with my kid at Brivite Seongsu
Spicy fried eggplant: the fried part isn't spicy, so kids can eat it
The spicy fried eggplant is one of the sides I always order when I come to Brivite Seongsu. The eggplant itself isn't spicy, so it works for eating with a kid, and it goes so well with that spicy sauce.

They say it's even better with lemon squeezed on top, but I like it plain, so I dug right in. This fried eggplant is the ultimate crispy-outside, tender-inside. It comes out straight from the fryer and is hot, so let it cool a bit before eating.

Truffle fries: no truffle for the kid, just honey
For the truffle fries, I asked for no truffle for my kid and just a generous pile of honey. I've had them with truffle too, and my kid liked how the aroma rose up. This time we ate them without truffle, and they were still so good...?

Jambon spicy risotto: neither heavy nor too spicy
The jambon spicy risotto is neither heavy nor too spicy. The jambon isn't salty, so it's just right with the risotto, and it's perfect as a brunch dish beyond the pastas. Too many nuts can make a dish heavy, but here there's just the right amount, so it's spicy and full of nutty richness.

Kkangchong-kkangchong! Rabbit Pasta: they removed the spice for us
The Kkangchong-kkangchong! Rabbit Pasta was the Seongsu pasta I was most looking forward to, the one my kid shouted they wanted the moment we walked into the restaurant.

The Kkangchong-kkangchong! Rabbit Pasta is normally sold spicy, but since we came with a kid, they could customize it...! We had it with the spice removed entirely, like a tomato pasta, and it was full of seafood flavor, which I loved. I feel like they could split it into spicy / mild versions and it would still sell well?

As expected, my kid was thrilled the moment the dish came out, and even more so on meeting the rabbit doll.

We asked for the pasta and the rabbit cheese to be put in a personal bowl, and as soon as it was served, my kid started eating eagerly. Brivite is famous as a Seongsu restaurant for kids, and I thought, there's a reason for that.

A Seongsu date with my kid: how was Brivite Seongsu?
I've been to Brivite Seongsu on my own dime a few times, and coming this time through Super Members and having a date with my kid was such a satisfying day! If you're stuck on where to eat during a Seongsu date with a kid, you can go without hesitation. It's a lovely space not just for kids but for couples, families and all kinds of groups. We're definitely going again with my kid!
