What is Moss, the bar near Euljiro 3-ga Station?
Moss is a bar on the 2nd floor at 46-2 Supyo-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul, near Euljiro 3-ga Station, where you can pick from traditional Korean liquors all the way to whisky. It is open 18:00–01:00, closed on Sundays, and for parking you use the Everyone's Parking lot (모두의 주차장). The highlights are tasty, varied food and the combination of traditional liquor and whisky.

It had been a while since I'd been to Euljiro! True to the nickname "Hipjiro," it was packed with MZ-generation crowds. There are lots of offices nearby too, so office workers were out as well, and there were plenty of easygoing bars. I guess a place where so many generations mix is what makes Euljiro so charming, haha.
Wandering through the Euljiro alleys is half the fun, right? While walking around, I found a new bar. A great-mood date course that I'd recommend for a blind date: Moss, near Euljiro 3-ga Station!

Can you order only drinks at Moss?
At Moss you can simply order drinks without any food, so I'd also recommend it as a second or third stop in Euljiro. It has everything from traditional liquors to whisky, and being able to choose what you like is its biggest strength.
The signboard is already hip, isn't it? If you're picking food and can't decide on a drink, you can ask for a pairing recommendation! They explain it very kindly, haha.

Does Moss serve Korean spirits by the glass?
Moss isn't one of those bottle-only places~~ Of course they have glasses too! There are bottles, but it's also a great place to drink by the glass :) Makgeolli (milky rice wine), medicinal cheongju (clear rice wine), traditional soju, whisky, cognac and more. I loved that there were so many drinks I'd seen at traditional liquor expos!!
What are the atmosphere and seating like at Moss?
Moss is themed around "moss in the middle of the city," so the lighting is soft, and it has both bar seats and table seats. It works for drinking alone in Euljiro, and for a date or blind date too.

The moment I walked into Moss I went "wow!" The mood was good enough that I immediately understood why people call it a great date spot. The lighting is pretty and even the tableware is perfect! It has both bar seats and table seats!

These are the bar seats and the table seats. The lighting is soft and carries the feeling of moss, so it's even prettier in person.
Moss menu and interior

According to Moss's own introduction, the space was built around the theme of moss in the city, hoping to be a place to catch your breath in a busy day and a source of energy for tomorrow. They have a range of drinks, including traditional liquors (takju, medicinal cheongju, distilled spirits) and whisky, and they say that just as everyone's taste is different, they hope you'll find and enjoy your own taste in the space.
I couldn't capture the menu board in my photos, so I borrowed the venue's menu from Naver! T_T
What are the house rules at Moss?
At Moss, ordering alcohol is mandatory (one glass per person or one bottle), and if guests are waiting, the time limit is 2 hours. You order with the QR code at your seat.

Scan the QR code and the ordering screen pops up, haha.
In what order should you drink Moss's 3 oak-aged spirits?
What I ordered at Moss was the set of three oak-aged distilled spirits: Sahwa 40%, Chusa Oak 40% and Dooreyang 35%. The staff told me which order to drink them in, so I just followed it with no second-guessing.

I actually have Chusa Oak at home, and it's a drink I really love, hahaha. I love oak aroma, so I sometimes even drop oak chips in it. It had been a while, so I ordered it as one of the oak-aged spirits, haha.

Aroma and flavor can feel quite different from the alcohol percentage, so with a drink you've never tried it can be hard to know what order to go in, right? That's why I really liked being told the order, haha.

I shot it bright and dark. The lighting is pretty too, isn't it?
What complimentary snacks does Moss serve?
Even the complimentary side dish at Moss is in a different class! It carries Euljiro's hip spirit and goes really well with traditional liquor, which is why it's a good stop among Euljiro 3-ga bars when you're looking for a traditional liquor bar or whisky bar.

Wow... if the free side dish is like this, I got curious about the other dishes too.

Which traditional Korean liquors does Moss carry?
Moss's traditional liquors are wide-ranging: rice distilled spirits, sweet potato distilled spirits, makgeolli, yakju (refined rice wine), cheongju and gwahaju (fruit-infused rice wine). The ones I recognized were Gamuchi, Sahwa, Tokki Soju, Park Jae-seo Myeongin Andong Soju and Ryeo or so...
Hwasim Soju Roasted Sweet Potato, Sojudaum Rose Gold, Sahwa Jeongmiso, Hard Potion, Samyangchun Cheongju, Gamtan, Rotten Unicorn Single Cask, Kim Chang-su Private Cask, Hwasim Miraon, Surok Chapter, Yeogang, Neunghwa Oak... wow, so many drinks I want to try T_T I'll have to go back again.

Even the restroom key at the entrance is hip at Moss, near Euljiro 3-ga Station! I recommend it as a second-round bar for an Euljiro date or blind date.
