Walking around Seongsu, sometimes it's not the flashy big cafés but the little ones you stumble on in an alley that stay with you longer. Mellows (Mellowz) was one of those. A red-brick building with a small open window, tables out on the street, and people passing by with soft serve in hand all caught my eye. It was a perfect Ttukseom Station café for a short break on a walk.

What does Mellows look like outside? Red brick and outdoor tables

Mellows is a Seongsu alley café in a red-brick building with a big Mellowz logo. The exterior was what I liked best the moment I took photos.

It's not a big café, but it fits the alley atmosphere Seongsu is known for. There are outdoor tables too, so on a nice day it's a good spot to rest with a cup of coffee.

Is the inside cramped? Small but reassuring

The inside isn't large, but the wood-tone interior and big windows kept it from feeling stuffy.

Some customers were working on laptops, and the quiet, restful mood made it a good place to take a short break.

An open kitchen you can see from the street

What I liked most at Mellows was the open kitchen. You can watch the soft serve being made even from outside the window,

and inside, the kitchen is fully visible too, so you can naturally check how clean it is. It felt open rather than closed-in, and being able to see how things are made made me trust it even more.

Mellows menu and prices: the ice cream is the star, not the coffee

Mellows also sells coffee, but the star is clearly the soft serve! There are seasonal fruit options like peach, mango and strawberry, plus combinations like matcha, peanut butter and affogato.

Coffee starts at ₩2,500 for an Americano, an easy add-on, but overall the soft serve is what left the impression!

How does the peach soft serve taste?

I ordered Mellows' peach soft serve. Chopped peaches sit at the bottom of the cup, topped with soft serve made from fresh Sangha Farm (Sangha Mokjang) milk.

The first bite has a rich milky flavor, and eaten together with the peaches below it's sweet yet cooling, perfect as a summer dessert.

It isn't overly sweet, so I could finish it without feeling weighed down, and the crisp texture of the peaches went surprisingly well with it.

A small dessert café found in a Seongsu alley

Seongsu has plenty of famous big cafés, but Mellows has a different kind of charm. It isn't large, but the alley feel is alive, with affordable coffee and soft serve made with seasonal fruit. "A neighborhood café that's good for a short break" describes it best. If you're walking around Seongsu or Ttukseom Station and want something cool and sweet, it's worth a stop.
