Hyangtaek Seongseo Keimyung University Branch is a Korean restaurant in an alley across from the main gate of Keimyung University, near Seongseo Keimyung University Dongsan Hospital in Dalseo, Daegu. Dinner here was mackerel gondre rice (grilled mackerel with rice and gondre, or thistle greens), mixed with the house sauce and wrapped in thick roasted seaweed, and the grilled mackerel tasted clean rather than fishy. Hyangtaek is worth remembering when you want a mild, tidy Korean meal.

Arriving just before 6:30 pm, we took the last free seat and ordered the signature Dongyi Han-sang Set at 36,900 won, swapping the doenjang stew for kimchi jjigae for an extra 1,000 won, and the nuruk-fermented gluten-free tangsuyuk (sweet-and-sour pork) and jeyuk bokkeum (spicy stir-fried pork) stood out most. Of all the places to eat at Samsung Changjo Campus, Cafe Dongyi Chimsan Branch is our number one, and we would go back without hesitation.
