Gankeun Galbi Seongseo Branch has a full glass window view. Located in Igokdong, Dalseo-gu, Daegu near an E-mart, with its own dedicated parking on the first floor — zero parking worries at this all-you-can-eat spot in Daegu.

How much is the lunch special?

They open at noon, and there's a lunch special that makes this pork rib restaurant even better value. For two people, pork rib or domestic pork belly runs in the low ₩20,000s! The pork rib lunch special is 600g + doenjang stew + rice for ₩20,900, and the domestic pork belly is 350g + doenjang stew + rice for ₩21,900 — perfect if you're looking for a budget-friendly barbecue spot in Daegu.

The lunch special runs until 3pm, so there's plenty of time to enjoy it leisurely. The meat is good and the price is this kind... such a happy weekend 🤎

The clean interior has all sofa seating with plenty of space, so you can eat comfortably, and next to the self-serve bar there's a kids' playroom and private rooms for more privacy.

Aprons are kept under the self-serve bar, so grab one if you need it! ⬇️

A private room that'd be great for a group dinner or family gathering in Igokdong, Seongseo, Daegu. Since the kids' playroom is right in view, it'd be super convenient if you're visiting with a child.

In front of the room and playroom there's a nostalgic barbecue-restaurant ice cream freezer haha, so nice to see ◡̈

What's on the self-serve bar?

Gankeun Galbi's self-serve bar has all sorts of things ready for making your own dipping sauces, plus jjapaghetti and jin ramyeon (instant noodle brands) — so good!! There's also hash browns, tteokbokki, seasoned chicken, fried chicken, and even patbingsu — a Ieokdong restaurant with a small-buffet level of setup.

Since we went all-you-can-eat, the meat is self-serve too, so there's fun in picking out your own cuts haha

There's also curry powder, a perfect match for pork belly, so since I went with pork rib + pork belly, I was happy-!🤭

There's a range of drinks too, so you can pour whatever suits you, plus juice and coffee. The patbingsu machine got cut off in the photo, but it's not just shaved ice — it's milk-based shaved ice, which made it even better ♥

Pork rib + pork belly all-you-can-eat, ₩21,900 (per person)

Since leaving food costs ₩3,000, we started by bringing over small portions. We're both big eaters, so we went back for pork belly three more times and ribs four more times haha All-you-can-eat is the best❥

Normally pork belly and pork rib use different grill pans, but since we wanted to eat both at once, we started grilling them together. The pork rib pan is a wire grill set below the table, but pork belly can't use the wire pan because of the grease, so we only did this until we got to the pork belly haha

Even on all-you-can-eat, the pork rib still had the bone attached, which made my boyfriend — a pork rib lover — really happy, and the deep marinade flavor was so good. Pork rib really should be that deep brown color~~

The pork belly was domestic too, not imported!!! I'm especially sensitive to gamey meat smell and won't eat it at all if it's there, but there was none here — amazing. So I ended up ordering soju to eat even more.. hahaha

Since it was before 5pm and not the dinner peak time, it was even quieter to enjoy the delicious meat, so soju was a must, hehe.

As a resident of Gamsam-dong, Dalseo-gu, it was quite a distance, but who cares if it's delicious 😍 Good enough to stack up three bottles of soju!!!

Partway through, we switched to the pork rib grill pan, and since we were sitting in front of the AC, a little white charcoal dust flew around. Still, pork rib really is better on a wire grill pan~

Honest review

Even among all-you-can-eat pork restaurants, quality varies a lot, but Gankeun Galbi Seongseo Branch was really great. A Seongseo, Igokdong restaurant I'd want to revisit 200%. The meat quality is good, and having food at every self-serve bar for about ₩20,000 per person... how can the world be this good haha The seating is spacious too, so if you're looking for a Seongseo, Daegu restaurant for a Dalseo-gu family gathering or group dinner, this is exactly the place!
