Plate Dunsan Branch is a fresh-pasta restaurant on the second floor of the building next to Galleria Timeworld in Seo-gu, Daejeon. Arriving right at the 11am opening with my eldest son during his school break, we ordered the fire chicken drumstick rosé pasta at 15,900 won and the flame-grilled chop steak pizza at 22,900 won, and finished every bite down to the pizza crusts. Plate Dunsan makes its fresh noodles, pizza dough and sauces in house, which is exactly what makes it worth trusting.

The mild, not-too-strong seasoning and the soft croquette made Gatjidong an easy meal to finish.

The jjuchipa set for two at spice level 2 brought fire-grilled octopus, pasta noodles, rice balls and gorgonzola wood-fired pizza, followed by dessert at the Dohwawon annex, where old-fashioned Korean snacks and drinks are free to help yourself. With more than 130 seats, group rooms, a kids' room and parking, Boksakkot Pineun Jip Daejeon Branch works well for family meals and gatherings.
