Jeju café for freshly made omegi-tteok tasting: Suragan Tteokbang

Suragan Tteokbang is a rice cake shop in Jeju, Jeju, selling omegi-tteok and other Korean rice cakes. I reserved 20 freshly made pieces in five flavors for ₩22,000, tasted them in the car and at home, and checked how to freeze them. The bright tangerine flavor and restrained sweetness made it a lovely Jeju gift stop.

Jeju noodle restaurant for beef bone broth: Handam Guksu

Handam Guksu Gwakji Aewol Branch is a noodle restaurant near Gwakji Beach in Aewol, Jeju. On our final travel day, we ordered beef bone broth pork noodles, dongchimi bibim noodles, and handmade pork tteokgalbi with our child; the window view and generous noodles stayed with us. Verdict: a great spot for a light meal in Aewol.

Jeju restaurant for hangover pork noodles: Handam Guksu

Handam Guksu Gwakji Aewol Branch is a pork noodle restaurant in Aewol, Jeju. I had beef-bone pork noodles and chilled dombe pork without a wait at weekday lunch, and loved the refreshing bean-sprout broth and soft, chewy noodles. Verdict: a comforting choice for breakfast or lunch after a night of travel.
