Why I chose omegi-tteok as a Jeju travel gift
When you come to Jeju, you pretty much have to buy souvenirs, right? I definitely recommend omegi-tteok (Jeju-style rice cake). It is easy to share without feeling like too much when you have lots of teammates or people to give gifts to!! I went to Suragan Tteokbang (수라간떡방), which is just a quick 10-minute trip from the airport.

I reserved mine in advance for pickup, so I could grab a whole box like this right away!! I was already so happy thinking about taking a bite. And I wanted to hurry up and pick it up because I knew my family would love it.

You can have omegi-tteok delivered depending on how many pieces you order!! The 20- and 30-piece options seem to be the most popular! If your luggage is full or you are sending gifts to several places, I recommend ordering delivery from Suragan Tteokbang.
- 20 pieces: ₩27,000 (shipping included)
- 30 pieces: ₩35,000 (shipping included)
The shop is open from 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM, so you can pick up rice cakes early in the morning!! Plus, it is a quick 10 minutes from Jeju Airport, which makes the route so convenient.
Which omegi-tteok can you choose?
You can choose your own omegi-tteok and have it packed to go!

You can choose your own omegi-tteok and have it packed to eat!!! And Suragan Tteokbang had such a wide variety of omegi-tteok! The tangerine omegi-tteok was my number-one pick.
There are so many varieties to choose from, including red bean omegi-tteok, black sesame, soybean powder, tangerine, and barley black sesame!! That makes it fun to pick and try them.

Suragan Tteokbang also had plenty of regular rice cakes besides omegi-tteok! From freshly made baekseolgi (steamed white rice cake) to honey-filled tteok, I think it would be nice to get some regular rice cakes along with your omegi-tteok!

My taste test of omegi-tteok bought as a Jeju gift

Suragan Tteokbang's omegi-tteok needs to go straight into the freezer as soon as you open it!! Luckily, I picked mine up right before heading to the airport during my Jeju trip, so it was well kept with an ice pack! I recommend making Suragan Tteokbang omegi-tteok pickup your final stop for Jeju travel gifts!
Not refrigerated—frozen!! Then take it out about 10 minutes before eating and let it thaw naturally.

The one I ate was tangerine omegi-tteok!!
It was an omegi-tteok where the tanginess of tangerine and the gentle sweetness of red beans went together so well. The texture was different from the omegi-tteok I had eaten before, and it was super chewy. Gamja liked it so much that they asked for another one!

The tangerine was refreshing, and there were more red beans inside than I expected, so even one felt filling! Gamja's mom has been eating one omegi-tteok with a soy milk each morning, and it is absolutely perfect for breakfast.
If you happen to travel to Jeju, I recommend Suragan Tteokbang's omegi-tteok gift set as a Jeju thank-you gift!

There is a parking lot right in front of the shop, so I recommend parking and picking up your order right away~~~ Just in case, make sure to reserve and place your pickup order in advance!
