Watermelon highball and port wine at Hey Jinny, Euljiro bar

After enjoying everything Euljiro has to offer during the day, I went looking for a good-vibe Euljiro date bar for the evening and found Hey Jinny ❤️ The food quality and atmosphere exceeded my expectations, so I wanted to share it!

What to check before you go: location and parking

The location was great — just a 3-minute walk from Exit 10 of Euljiro 3(sam)-ga Station, and it's on the 2nd floor, so keep that in mind.

For parking, you can use the J Macro Tower underground parking lot nearby (paid), at ₩1,000 per 10 minutes, with no separate support offered, so I'd recommend public transit if possible~ Business hours are weekdays 5pm to midnight, and weekends from 11:30am, which seemed pretty good for daytime drinking too haha.

What was Hey Jinny's cozy atmosphere like?

Climbing the stairs to the 2nd floor feels like entering a secret hideout cabin, greeted by dim lighting. The 2nd floor is structured to block outside noise, so it was great for quiet conversation, and the tables were spaced generously apart, making it good for dates.

There's a variety of seating from 2-person tables to a bar table and 4-person tables, so it seemed like a good fit for couples, groups, and solo guests alike.

Unusual snacks paired with drinks — did they suit my taste?

Looking over the menu, the dish I was most curious about was the eohyang-gaji (spicy Sichuan-style eggplant) for ₩18,000, which I ordered first — pretty appetizing-looking, right?

Taking a bite — oh? The batter is thin and crispy-style, and even though it was stir-fried in sauce, the crispiness held up perfectly haha.

The texture was a textbook crispy-outside-tender-inside, and the tangy aroma of Sichuan pepper with a subtle sweetness was the kicker ❤️ Next up was the Osaka niboshi shrimp oil pasta for ₩21,000, which had a unique look.

Loaded with anchovies, shrimp, and white mentaiko (pollack roe), the smell of the sea filled my mouth — it felt like tasting the textbook version of Japanese-style pasta!

I thought this was a place known for its snacks, but it turns out... it was also a Euljiro Western-food spot...!

The noodles were cooked just right, and the sauce was well absorbed into the noodles, so it wasn't bland even to the last bite.

For those who love shrimp like me, this will be pretty satisfying — there were a lot of plump shrimp packed in haha.

Port wine glass and watermelon highball

Take a bite of pasta, then a sip of wine, right? For drinks, I chose a sweet red wine glass and a refreshing watermelon highball~ The port wine was rich and sweet, and my boyfriend kept marveling as he drank, saying he wanted to buy a whole bottle separately haha.

The watermelon highball was refreshing and just sweet enough, and it paired quite well with the snacks haha.

Would I visit again?

On the way out after finishing the meal, there was even a cute candy send-off, which left me in a good mood right up to the end haha.

Overall, the quality of the food was high, so it seems like a safe choice for anyone coming to Euljiro to enjoy snacks and wine. Especially since they offer a wine glass event for birthday visits, it'd be great for an anniversary date too, right? Thanks to the friendly service and cozy atmosphere, I'm planning to visit again soon with friends for a gathering ❤️
