I found Ssosam 208 while looking for delicious pork belly in Suwon, and it was so relaxing because the staff grilled all the meat for us~~ Let me tell you about this truly delicious pork belly, sizzling away on a stone grill!

A busy Suwon Station barbecue restaurant even at dinner
Maybe because it is already well known as a good barbecue spot near Suwon Station, there were so many customers at dinner, haha. Even though it was a weekday, quite a few tables were occupied!

Trying several cuts with the medium assorted stone grill
We ordered the medium assorted stone grill~! And of course, we had to order soju with pork belly, haha. There were so many different meats—pork belly, pork neck, makchang (pork intestine), flower-cut pork belly, and more—so it was great for trying each kind!

At Ssosam, known for pork belly near Suwon Station, even the side dishes came out so neatly presented! Shredded scallions, myeonginamul (pickled mountain garlic leaves), and even unusual wasabi! There were lots of sauces for dipping the meat, and I really loved that, haha.

The included kimchi pho can be refilled once
And this kimchi pho, a special menu item at Ssosam near Suwon Station, comes as an included side—and apparently you can refill it once!! It was so delicious that I got a refill too.. The noodles were chewy, and the spice aroma was fragrant. It honestly did not lose out to a pho restaurant, haha.

Volcano cheese fondue and staff-grilled pork belly
This volcano cheese fondue is a topping you get when you take part in the Naver receipt-review event, haha. It looks like a sizzling volcano, but it is cheese! Isn't that so fascinating? It went so well with the rich meat when we dipped it in, haha. It tasted like cheese with a spicy sauce added. True to its reputation as a barbecue restaurant near Suwon Station, the staff grilled all of our pork belly, which was so comfortable, haha. All we had to do was pick up the nicely browned pork belly and eat it—so nice! With tofu and kimchi grilled alongside it, it looked incredibly appetizing~~

Can you see the color of that pork belly? The quality of the meat looks so good, right? Haha. It was fresh pork belly with a nice chew, and the balance of fat and lean meat was just right, making it wonderfully savory~

As befits a well-known barbecue spot near Suwon Station, even the fatty parts were not greasy or mushy; they had a lovely springy texture~ The grilled kimchi was especially perfect with it, so we really enjoyed the combination, haha.

Whenever it started to feel a little rich, we dipped the pork belly in the volcano cheese fondue or mixed it up with the various sauces they gave us. That kept every bite interesting and less heavy~~ The heat was not too strong under the cooked pork belly, so we could leave it on the grill and keep it warm while eating, haha.

That mountain of stacked pork belly looks absolutely glorious, right? Haha. I stopped by while looking for a barbecue restaurant near Suwon Station today, and I liked everything about Ssosam: they grill the meat for you, and above all, the meat quality was so good~ Even the included side dishes and pho were as good as what you would get at a specialty restaurant, so I had a really delicious meal, haha.

Extra pork skin for a final palate cleanser
As we ate, I noticed they had pork skin on the menu, so we ordered some extra as a final palate cleanser~~ The staff grilled all the pork skin too, and its chewy yet tender texture made it the perfect drinking snack, haha.
