Anseong bakery café for baguette and cheese ciabatta: Chat Baker

In short

Chat Baker Brunch & Bakery Café is a 500-pyeong, two-story bakery and brunch café in Gongdo-eup, Anseong, Gyeonggi. On the drive back to Suwon from a Danyang trip, the writer stopped at Chat Baker with her husband and child for a baguette, cheese ciabatta, two Americanos and jambon truffle cream risotto, and the thick, creamy risotto was the favourite. Parking is roomy and needs no registration to exit, so Chat Baker works easily for both family outings and dates.

Hi, it's Cheese Mom the cat blogger! This weekend I went to the Goesan pepper festival and did some car camping in Danyang, and on the way back up to Suwon after the Danyang leg, I stopped by a large café in Anseong, Pyeongtaek area — Chat Baker. Here's my review!

What kind of café is Chat Baker?

Chat Baker is a bakery café in Gongdo, Anseong — a spacious, comfortable spot known for both brunch and bakery goods. It was my first time visiting, and I'd heard you could enjoy a wide variety of breads, coffee, brunch and dinner in a large space, so I went to check it out.

This Anseong brunch café is a large bakery café spanning 500 pyeong. In person, it really was a big two-story café, with seating ranging from floor seats to all kinds of table seats, spaced out generously.

It's the kind of spot with great atmosphere where you can enjoy bread and coffee, of course, but also pasta and risotto together.

Weekend parking and who I went with

Chat Baker has plenty of parking, so even on a weekend it wasn't hard to find a spot at all. Today's companions at this large Pyeongtaek/Anseong café: my husband and kid!

Picking bread from 80+ handmade bakery items

Chat Baker's bakery line, which reportedly kneads and bakes over 80 kinds of bread by hand every day! From cakes to so many other kinds of bread, there was really a lot to choose from.

You just push a button and the door opens automatically, which made it easy to grab the bread : )

So many cakes and breads that both kids and adults would love at this new-ish Anseong café! After a lot of deliberating, we picked baguette and cheese ciabatta! To drink, two Americanos! And finally, for our hungry kid, we ordered jambon truffle cream risotto.

The taste of the baguette and cheese ciabatta

Plain, clean-tasting baguette and cheese ciabatta! I even put some risotto on top of the baguette to eat — that light, unfussy flavor really worked for me. Soft on the inside, crispy on the outside — truly delicious.

The cheese ciabatta had that salty cheese flavor paired with the mild ciabatta bread, and it was really good. Actually, this place is apparently famous for salt bread, and I wanted to order that too — but felt like I was already picking too much, so I skipped it this time *^^* Next visit, I want to try the salt bread and some cake too!

This risotto was seriously rich and delicious. It's clear why Chat Baker is known as an Anseong brunch spot — this risotto was genuinely so good ㅠ_ㅠ that thick, creamy texture was exactly my kind of thing!!

Both the rice dish and the bread were delicious, and the atmosphere was really nice too — as I looked around while eating and drinking coffee, I noticed a lot of couples. Apparently it's known as a popular date spot in Anseong — I spotted quite a few couples +.+
