You can park right in front, but the road is a bit narrow, so keep in mind there might not be a spot on weekends or holidays! 🐶 Dogs are welcome on the outdoor terrace.

What does the name 'Deokmi' mean?

I always get curious about the meaning behind a name wherever I go (I want to appreciate the thought that went into it...). Deokmi means 'a home (Home) of virtuous beauty (德美).' The name was inspired by the idea of a beautiful hometown house where you can rest comfortably at the boundary where the old warmth of Dongam Village, a fishing village with a long history, meets the modern spaces nearby like Ananti.

Main house or annex? Window seats with sea views

Deokmi is split into two spaces: the main house and the annex.

Both spaces have striking classic interiors, and it was lovely to sip a drink while looking out at the sea through the big windows ☕️ Pretty on a sunny day like today, but I bet the window view has real atmosphere on rainy days too 🌧️

What to know before ordering at Deokmi

At Deokmi Gijang Branch, the matcha choco latte and matcha strawberry latte can be ordered without the matcha, as a plain choco latte or strawberry latte. Next to the menu board, they also sell teas blended by an in-house tea sommelier. You can smell each kind before ordering, so tea lovers will really enjoy this. Personally, I loved the Lemon Sunset.

Deokmi's own tiramisu lineup

Deokmi has its own tiramisu lineup: a sponge soaked in espresso, topped with a thick layer of mascarpone cheese cream, then piled generously with a homemade fruit compote or fresh fruit.

They said it's peach right now in summer, changes to fig in October, and strawberry in December — sounds so good 🤤💦💦

How does the dense handmade Oreo cheesecake taste?

The cheesecake at Deokmi Gijang Branch isn't watery or light — it's a handmade cream-cheese-based cheesecake that's dense, heavy, and wonderfully fudgy 🧀 The balance between the savory bottom crust, the rich cheese layer, and the Oreo is so, so, so good. Take a bite of cake, then a sip of iced Americano — ahhh, kkeuuuuuuu.

Royal vanilla bean latte, the signature drink

For drinks, we ordered an Americano, the Royal Vanilla Bean Latte (signature), and a Strawberry Latte.

Fun fact: at Deokmi, they make the syrup themselves using real vanilla beans! Instead of artificial flavoring or store-bought vanilla powder, they simmer and age real Madagascar vanilla bean pods into a handmade syrup. Look at the bottom of the drink and you can see flecks of black vanilla bean sprinkled throughout — it's not just sweet, it has a rich, deep flavor, and I'd honestly call it the best vanilla latte of my life! No wonder they named it the royal vanilla bean latte.
