Special and mixed sushi sets stay fresh lunch-to-dinner: Moraenae

I did a market tour with the kids over the weekend! There was so much good food that my eyes were spinning, and in the middle of the crowd, a bag that looked like a fancy designer shopping bag caught my eye?! Now I'm curious if the taste is just as fancy.

Moraenae Market in Guwol-dong, Incheon is always packed when you go on the weekend.

Walk straight up the main street and you'll find this spot where everyone's gathered — Minyeong Hwareo Gongjang!

Starting from its flagship store, it's grown into a decent-sized chain around Incheon, so it's sushi you can trust for both taste and quality.

What's on the display case?

There were a lot of people that day too, and while I was picking what to get, I watched the sushi on display disappear in real time haha.

Flounder, salmon, shrimp, and engawa (fatty flounder fin) sushi, plus yukhoe (raw beef) sushi, tuna sushi, freshly prepared mulhoe (cold raw fish soup), futomaki, and a salmon-flounder mixed sashimi platter!

So many kinds — perfect for picking whatever suits your taste.

And shrimp isn't just shrimp, nono — you can pick raw shrimp, vinegared shrimp, garlic shrimp, or the mixed shrimp set~ Same goes for salmon, by type!

And this spot right here, always emptied out! All the best pieces by type gathered together: Moraenae Sushi, Special Mixed Sushi, Special Sushi, Omakase Sushi.

They keep making more and it keeps disappearing haha, seriously popular^^

Usually you get charged extra for cold-pack packaging. And broth usually has to be bought separately... but here everything is included as standard, which was really nice^^

Take a look at this cooler bag especially🧡 It's clean and polished like some kind of Hermès of the sushi world, and it's free. Nice to eat myself, but it'd also look fancy to gift to someone~

Opening the packaging at the park

After about a 5-minute wait, I took the fresh sushi to go~ Sat down at the park and opened it up along with the other stuff I picked up at the market.

They packed plenty of broth, wasabi, soy sauce, pickled radish (rakkyo), and pickled ginger — nothing was skimped.

Under the shade of a tree, a nice breeze, one piece of sushi — here we go... but I ended up too full and brought it back home instead haha.

Bought at lunch, eaten at dinner — still fresh?

Thanks to the ice pack plus cooler bag packaging, even though I bought it at lunchtime and ate it at dinner, it still felt fresh.

The Special Sushi Set is made up of flounder, salmon, tuna, garlic salmon, garlic shrimp, eel, soy-marinated shrimp, and squid. A nice variety to sample all kinds.

The Special Mixed Sushi Set is tuna, raw shrimp, flounder, salmon. It's all live-fish sushi, so it feels super fresh!

Got the sushi sidekicks ready too~ Starting with tuna and garlic shrimp, time to demolish the sushi♡

Since my husband isn't big on shrimp or salmon, we happily traded a few pieces back and forth and had a really tasty dinner. Not a hint of fishy taste, and the fish was cut nice and thick with great chewiness.

Next time I'll skip the mixed sets and buy a bunch of my favorite pieces individually to eat even more haha :)
