Yeonje Korean restaurant for kids’ pork cutlet: Sinseon Myeonga

Not long ago, I was looking for a Yeonsan-dong restaurant where I could have a neat, satisfying meal with the kids, so we visited Sinseon Myeonga Yeonsan Branch.

When dining out with kids, I always put a lot of thought into choosing a menu because it has to suit both adult and child palates. This place has such a solid lineup, from handmade-noodle kalguksu to spicy octopus, kid-friendly pork cutlet, and bossam (boiled pork wraps), that we all had a satisfying meal—I really wanted to introduce it to you.

A clean dining room and tablet ordering

Located on the first floor at 26 Jungang-daero 1150beon-gil in Yeonsan-dong, Yeonje-gu, Busan, Sinseon Myeonga made a tidy, clean impression from its exterior alone.

Once inside, the restaurant was spacious, with comfortably separated tables, creating an atmosphere where we could eat at ease with the kids.

Each table had a tablet for easy ordering while looking through photos of the dishes.

The self-service corner was kept clean, so we could comfortably help ourselves to extra side dishes such as pickled radish and kimchi. There was also information on small perks, including a Naver receipt-review event.

Thanks to the thoughtfully maintained setting, I felt good from the very first impression.

Icy cold kalguksu and a small boiled-pork set

We first tried the cold kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup), which was perfect for hot weather like this, along with the small boiled-pork set.

The cold kalguksu had a cool, deep broth dotted with tiny ice crystals, paired with chewy handmade noodles. One bite and it felt like everything inside me had been refreshed.

After mixing in the egg, seaweed flakes, cucumber, and seasoned sauce on top, the savory flavor was excellent.

The small boiled pork arrived warm in a steamer, arranged so we could enjoy it with nutty tofu.

The meat was tender and moist with absolutely no off smell, so the kids ate it really well too. A bite of refreshing cold kalguksu followed by a piece of boiled pork wrapped up together was simply perfect.

Spicy stir-fried octopus and pork cutlet for the kids

Next came the stir-fried octopus, its savory seasoning smelling delicious. Plump octopus and cabbage were lightly stir-fried in the house sauce, and the octopus was never tough—springy and wonderfully satisfying to chew.

Wrapped in fresh lettuce or quickly mixed through rice, it was a special dish that really whetted the adults’ appetites.

For the kids, we ordered the old-fashioned pork cutlet. It came in a large portion with a crisp coating and plenty of sweet, rich demi-glace sauce. It was generously plated with salad, macaroni, and rice too, so it was truly substantial.

It was crisp on the outside and moist within, and seeing the kids eat so heartily without putting their spoons down made me feel proud.

Final thoughts on visiting with kids

With a varied menu spanning noodle dishes, meat, spicy octopus, and crisp pork cutlet, Sinseon Myeonga felt like a place that could hardly be better for visiting with children.

The portions were generous, and every dish felt carefully prepared, so I am 200% willing to return for another family meal. If you are looking for a filling, delicious meal with the kids, do give it a visit!
