I ordered the haejangguk + haejangguk & dombe pork set.

The dombe pork comes with lettuce, garlic, peppers, and salted shrimp to go with it.

The tender dombe pork had just the right meat-to-fat ratio, the skin was chewy, and the meat was savory and clean-tasting — really good.

It's tasty on its own, but it was even better dipped lightly in salted shrimp and wrapped in lettuce with pepper and garlic. The soft texture of the meat plus the crisp, sharp bite of the pepper and the aroma of garlic made it taste clean rather than greasy.

The basic table setting comes with peppers and ssamjang (seasoned soybean paste), and each table has a tub of kkakdugi (radish kimchi) you can help yourself to as much as you want. Kkakdugi matters a lot at a haejangguk place, and when the kkakdugi is good, you already know it's a solid restaurant.
