The weather has gotten quite cool lately~~~ This is the season for daytime drinks, when it feels perfect to have a glass of makgeolli with something delicious~~~ Why do I get so hungry whenever it turns crisp and cool? Hahahaha
Sinseon Myeonga (신선면가) in Yeonsan-dong!! There are lots of residential complexes nearby, so there are quietly a lot of great places to eat!!! Right among them is Sinseon Myeonga!! Parking is totally available~ and if you contact them, they’ll open the parking-lot gate for you!!!
I was soooo hungry!!! I went for an opening-time run without hesitation~~~ Hahahahaha First one there!!! Sinseon Myeonga cooks with good ingredients and care!!! You can really feel the owner’s pride, so I was even more excited!!!
The dining hall seating was spacious, with plenty of room!!! Delivery orders kept coming in while I was choosing the menu~~ I think this place is popular!!!!

Ordering the grilled octopus-bossam set and kalguksu
The menu was seriously so varied, with set meals too, so I looked it over for ages haha. I wanted to eat everything~~ but after a whole lot of deliberation~~~
- Grilled octopus + bossam set (tofu kimchi) / kalguksu
- Makgeolli

I loved that they brought out a little sample of sundae (Korean blood sausage) as a side dish~~~ This sundae lover is haha, so happy!!!

The fresh geotjeori kimchi that comes with the sundae is seriously delicious!! Sinseon Myeonga is a kimchi hot spot~~~ You can refill it at the self-service bar, so help yourself!!! But please take only what you’ll eat!!!

Leave a Naver receipt review and you get free dumplings~!! If you have time, give it a try and taste the dumplings~~~

A generous spread with makgeolli
Wow~~~~ The table filled up in no time!!! Wait, I ordered one set and one kalguksu—why does this look like five servings??? Hahahahahahaha Amazing!!! Can you believe it was in the ₩40,000 range??? Including makgeolli.... ahh

The bossam meat was really tender, and there was lots of it too~~~ It was such a harmonious spread: tofu + dried radish strips + wraps + garlic sauce~~~

First, one piece dipped in my favorite garlic sauce!! It was so nutty, pungent, and delicious~~~~ Isn’t this such a moving spread??? Seriously amazing!!! So that’s why orders kept coming in and they were busy ㅠㅠㅠㅠ

Fire-kissed octopus and house-made kalguksu
The grilled octopus had an incredible smoky fire flavor on the outside~~~ Since this is a kalguksu hot spot, you absolutely have to order the signature dish~~~ If there are two or three of you, I totally recommend adding kalguksu to the set like this!!!

I was dazed by this next-level spread hahaha. Seriously, what should I eat first~~ Such a fun dilemma!!!

The octopus was nicely spicy and tender, not tough at all, and the smoky flavor was incredible~~~

Sinseon Myeonga, the geotjeori hot spot!! Wrap up plenty of it with tofu and bossam~~ It goes amazingly well with absolutely anything~~~

I kept making hearty wraps and eating away~~~ Don’t leave out the makgeolli—have some in between, hahaha. This pairing is pure art!!!

And the really amazing thing about Sinseon Myeonga is that with the octopus + bossam set, they give you one extra dish for free?? I immediately chose tofu kimchi!!! Sinseon Myeonga has all the winning companions for makgeolli ♥

And of course, it wouldn’t feel right to skip kalguksu, the signature main dish~~~ A table needs one soupy dish to be complete!!! Sinseon Myeonga is known for making its own noodles and using good rice!!! The noodles were truly chewy and soft—the real highlight!!! And the broth, well, need I even say more~~~ So nutty!! Add the seasoning sauce for a clean, spicy kick!! Top it with geotjeori and eat~~~ Happiness~~~~~~ I had such a delicious lunch!!!

They even had complimentary yakgwa (honey cookies) and sikhye (sweet rice drink) by the exit~~~ Wow!!! Please take only one per person!!! Haha, Sinseon Myeonga was truly perfect right through the final service!!
