Jeju pork neck restaurant near Magok Station, Seoul: Tamra Factory
In short
Tamra Factory Magok Direct Store is a Jeju fresh pork restaurant a 5-minute walk from Exit 3 of Magok Station in Gangseo, Seoul. On a rainy walk home from work, two servings of 1%-selected Jeju pork neck (19,000 won) and hanwoo doenjang jjigae (beef soybean paste stew, 10,000 won) were ordered, and a staff member grilled the meat over charcoal first before moving it to the tabletop grill, so there was nothing to do but eat. I was heading home from work when it started raining,, and weirdly, on rainy days I sometimes crave meat on a grill more than warm soup — this was exactly one of those days haha

I suddenly wanted something thick like pork neck or pork belly, so I looked up meat restaurants near Magok, and the one that caught my eye was Tamra Factory Magok Direct Store!

What especially drew me in was that the staff grill the meat for you here

There are days when you want meat but flipping it and watching the grill the whole time feels like a hassle — this was exactly that kind of day, so I went looking for a Magok meat restaurant that grills for you and could let me eat comfortably!
How to get to Tamra Factory from Magok Station, and where to park
Tamra Factory Magok Direct Store is about a 5-minute walk from Exit 3 of Magok Station. Walking straight along a leafy path, it wasn't hard to find on the 1st floor of the building across from Starbucks.
If you're driving, you can park anywhere from basement level 2 to 4, and they support up to 2.5 hours of parking, which looks convenient for family gatherings or work dinners too

The exterior has a black sign, so it's not the kind of place that jumps out at you from far away, but once you spot the Tamra Factory sign up top it's easy to find
Inside Tamra Factory: mood and seating

Walking in, I first thought the place seemed smaller than expected, but it actually stretches back quite a way, so there was a decent variety of seating

There's a row of 2- to 4-person tables, and on one side there's also lean-back seating, so it was good for groups too

Overall it has that comfortable Korean BBQ restaurant vibe, so it seemed to work well both for dinner with a friend and for family gatherings or office dinners
When looking for a Magok meat restaurant, seating layout and atmosphere matter more than you'd think, and this place didn't seem like it would feel cramped even with a group
There were plenty of office workers in for dinner during the evening rush too, which made me think this is a good Magok meat restaurant with staff-grilled service for people working nearby
You could see the meat fridge right there, so I could check the condition of the meat myself, which gave me a bit more trust that it was kept fresh
A menu built around Jeju pork

The menu has a Tamra platter good for sharing with a group, and a version of the platter with hanwoo (Korean beef) galbisal added, plus individual orders like Jeju pork neck, Jeju pork belly, whole galmaegisal (skirt meat), whole gabrisal, and whole hangjeongsal (pork jowl)

Besides the grilled dishes there's yukhoe (beef tartare), and meal items that pair well with meat like mul-bibim naengmyeon (cold noodles in spicy sauce), fresh pork kimchi ramyeon, fresh pork kimchi bokkeumbap with rice, and hanwoo doenjang jjigae. The menu wasn't overly complicated, and it felt like it had exactly the sides you'd want alongside meat, so ordering was easy

There's an explanation of each cut of meat posted up, so give it a quick read!
What we ordered: two servings of 1%-selected Jeju pork neck

After some deliberation we ordered 2 servings of the 1%-selected Jeju pork neck at ₩19,000, plus hanwoo doenjang jjigae at ₩10,000, a bowl of rice at ₩1,000, and a zero-sugar cola at ₩2,000!! I like pork neck, so this time I went for the thicker neck cut over pork belly
Even before the meat arrived, the basic table setting was already pretty generous
From basic condiments like ssamjang (dipping sauce), garlic, and salt to green onion kimchi, bean sprouts, mook-muchim (seasoned jelly noodles), kimchi, pickled radish for wraps, perilla leaf pickles, wild garlic, and lettuce — there was a lot to combine with the meat
I especially liked the perilla leaf pickles and wild garlic with the pork neck
How the staff charcoal-grilling works
The part I liked most that day was that they grill the meat for you! Staff grilled the pork neck over charcoal on the side first, and once it was cooked enough, moved it over to our tabletop grill
The outside gets fully cooked and only the inside needs a bit more time on our grill, so we never had to grill it ourselves from start to finish. No conversations getting cut off while standing over a hot grill, no worrying about the meat's doneness — I really liked being able to just relax and eat

The pork neck had real thickness to it and looked appetizing, and on the first bite the outside was golden and browned while the inside stayed juicy. Unlike thinly sliced pork neck, this style gets more savory the more you chew, so if you like thick-cut meat, this should suit you well

Side dishes that paired well with the pork neck
Wrapping it in wild garlic worked well too, so I kept switching things up! A thick, savory bite of pork neck paired with perilla leaf pickles added a salty, fragrant note that kept it from feeling greasy, and the green onion kimchi was also a great match for the meat

Dipping it in salted seafood brought out the meat's flavor with a nice briny kick, and piling lettuce with garlic and green onion kimchi made every bite even richer

Finishing with hanwoo doenjang jjigae
The hanwoo doenjang jjigae we ordered last was also a great match with the meat
It was packed with zucchini, mushrooms, tofu, onion, and hanwoo beef, so there were plenty of ingredients in it, and eating it with rice felt like a clean way to wrap up after the meat
The doenjang jjigae wasn't overly bold in flavor — more the kind you'd take a spoonful of between bites of meat — so it went well with the pork neck

Is Tamra Factory Magok worth a visit?
Overall, Tamra Factory Magok Direct Store was a good place to visit when you want thick Jeju pork without any hassle. I especially liked that the staff-grilled system let me focus on the meal, and if you're looking for good pork belly near Magok Station, I'd recommend checking out the Jeju pork belly or pork neck menu too

I ended up here on a rainy day because I suddenly craved meat, and it turned out to be more comfortable than expected!! Next time I want to try the Jeju pork belly or other grilled items, so I'll keep this on my list of Magok meat restaurants
