Beef brisket yukhoe wraps for date night: Chadol Grill Magok
In short
Chadol Grill Magok is a beef brisket (chadol) and short rib restaurant on the 1st floor of the GMG Tower near Magok Station in Gangseo, Seoul. A wife brought her husband here right after work, drawn in by a beef brisket yukhoe (raw seasoned beef) wrap she saw on YouTube, and they also ordered the scallop set, steamed egg, and doenjang rice porridge. It's now her go-to spot in Magok whenever she craves chadol.

Hi, it's Dooseul's mom. Chadol yukhoe wraps were already a thing, but recently I saw Kang Min-kyung's YouTube video and got completely hooked on them... 🫣 So I timed it with my husband's finish time from work and went gogo to a place in Magok that sells beef brisket yukhoe wraps...

How could you not eat this after seeing it... Next time I might try making it at home myself, like Kang Min-kyung did...!!

Even from a distance the visuals are insane!! They sell not just chadol (beef brisket) but also short rib and seasoned short rib, all kinds.

Also a good vibe for a Magok work dinner
I visited outside meal hours so there were no customers yet. But there were quite a few reservations from nearby office workers that day. My husband, tired of pork, said we should book this place for our next company dinner haha.

Chadol Grill's menu lineup
This is the main event here — the chadol yukhoe wrap!! Something really unusual is the wasabi rice...? I'm curious about that... The asparagus is also actually a rare menu item elsewhere, so I regretted not ordering more after finishing it ;;

Chadol Grill's signature menu
- Hanwoo beef brisket yukhoe wrap / Aged chadol samhap
- Hanwoo chadol samhap / Aged beef brisket / Garlic-seasoned beef brisket
- Quick-frozen pork belly / Premium raw short rib / Premium seasoned short rib
They also have hearty side dishes like makguksu, Spam stew hot pot, and doenjang sool-bap, so I totally recommend filling up on those alongside the meat too

Basic table setting and banchan
The basic table setting came with wild garlic leaves, lettuce and perilla leaf salad, mustard leaf kimchi, garlic scapes, and white kimchi. The side dishes tasted homemade, so good!!

Doesn't the yukhoe and chadol look amazing..? I really don't like the fatty parts, but even though this is beef brisket, it wasn't too fatty, which I loved! The yukhoe was separately seasoned in-house, not too sweet.

The scallop set wasn't fishy at all
I also ordered the scallop set, which comes brushed with ghee butter oil. To my taste, not even one bite was fishy!! Seriously, that's rare... lol

Beef brisket + yukhoe: the temperature contrast is the charm
Beef brisket + yukhoe = a total winning combo 🥩 The moment you put the brisket on the grill, sizzle- it's thin so it cooks fast and you can eat it right away, love that! My husband and I have a regular chadol place we always go to in Gangseo. After eating here, he said this was so good he didn't need to go there anymore... haha. Chadol brisket doesn't melt in your mouth the way hanwoo does, but it's not overly fatty and has its own texture, so you never get sick of it. Think the temperature contrast between warm chadol and cold yukhoe sounds weird...? It's SO. Charming!! The savoriness doubles the more you chew~~~ There's absolutely a reason to eat them together...

Side dish: steamed egg
Steamed egg was great to eat in between bites of chadol! The seasoning wasn't too strong, just right and delicious. No matter how good the meat is, if the sides fall short it's a bit disappointing, you know?

The finale: doenjang sool-bap
The finish is always doenjang sool-bap (soybean paste rice porridge)! After eating your fill of meat, you've got to wrap up with something hot and comforting. My husband and I both agreed, "good call ordering this." The spicy, savory doenjang sool-bap cleans up your palate after all that potentially greasy meat!! Why does the spoon keep moving even when you're full.... Only after eating meat and then doenjang sool-bap does a meal truly feel complete. If you come here, definitely finish with this!! ^^ ;
It comes out bubbling and simmering, and the visuals alone are just insane.
Final verdict
If you think this is just a 'neighborhood BBQ joint,' you're wrong. From the basic meat quality to the sides, I was satisfied start to finish! Honestly the samhap alone makes you gasp out loud...ㅠㅠㅠ Definitely order the yukhoe and the scallops!! This is going to be the first place I think of in Magok whenever I crave chadol! Cleared my plate completely and happily at Chadol Grill ---!!
