On top of that, there are all kinds of free extras, from dessert to a special baby rice dish, so satisfaction was at 100%. Why the kitchen grills every cut at Go Ok-hui
Go Ok-hui, located in Hwamyeong-dong, is a Korean BBQ restaurant where the kitchen grills the meat completely before serving it. While looking for a barbecue place, I heard about one where the kitchen grills everything from start to finish, so I decided to visit! It was great not having to grill it myself, and best of all, the meat here is genuinely delicious 🤤💛

The prices are also pretty reasonable, which is why a lot of people choose it as a spot for a Hwamyeong-dong work dinner. Good prices plus deliciously grilled meat — there's really no reason not to go 😆
Does the smoke smell stick to your clothes?
The interior overall was clean and pleasant. Even though it's a barbecue restaurant, there was almost no smell of meat or greasy residue, so it felt as clean as an ordinary restaurant. I really love meat itself, but I've always disliked that lingering feeling of smoke in my clothes and grease on my skin afterward 😂

There were also all kinds of sauces prepared, from spicy to sweet, plain to nutty, so it was fun to pick and choose based on what I felt like. And the day I visited, there were plenty of both families and groups on company dinners. Highly recommend this spot for a family meal out or a Hwamyeong-dong work dinner 💛
There were also a variety of individual dips laid out on the table! From curry powder to pink salt, soybean powder, and mayonnaise, you could dip the meat in different things depending on the cut or your mood. The flavor changed a bit depending on the sauce combination, which made it fun to try different ones!
Small, medium and large sets: what 500g costs

📌 The set menu comes in small, medium, and large sizes! If you're visiting as a group of two, the small set is more than enough — and at 500g for around ₩30,000s, it's really good value 👏
✔️ You can also choose which meats go into your set. Pork belly, cod roe pork belly, marinated galbi, gochujang-marinated pork, honeycomb tripe, and more are all available, so you can pick according to your taste! I went with the small set and chose a combination of pork belly, cod roe pork belly, and honeycomb tripe.
On the table there were also recommended combinations written out to help you enjoy the meat even more. Depending on your preference, mixing sauces and side dishes let you enjoy the same meat in different ways.
Free extras at Go Ok-hui, from umbrella rental to toddler rice

The service here is honestly amazing lol. Has anyone else seen a restaurant that lends umbrellas?? 😂 If you don't have one on a rainy day, they'll lend you one for free — and if you return it in good conscience, they even give you a coupon for a free side dish! The owner's sense of hospitality is top-tier 💛
When there's a wait, they even prepare cold sikhye (sweet rice drink) for customers waiting outside! Taking care of guests even in hot weather 👍
On top of that, there's mouthwash, a yogurt dessert, and free baby rice for kids under 6! The baby rice comes as cheese curry rice, so it's a great place to bring along a child too. Genuinely the top spot for service 👏
Side dishes and grilled vegetables on the table

After ordering, the side dishes and grilled vegetables came out first! The meat hadn't even arrived yet, but the spread was already pretty generous, which I loved.

The side dishes included green onion salad, aged kimchi, myeongi namul (wild garlic leaves), shiitake sauce, ssamu (pickled radish for wraps), and more — all things that go well with meat. If you run low, you can order more through the tablet on the table and a staff member brings it right away, which was really convenient 😊

Every single side dish paired well with the meat, making everything taste even better together 💛

The grilled vegetables were surprisingly delicious too. They came with sauce drizzled on top, and were packed with bracken fern, green onion, rice cake, and mushrooms — a perfect match with the meat ><

With food this good, you can't not order alcohol 🍶 lol. I ordered soju, and they even gave me a liver supplement along with it! At this point the service is almost too much to even describe 🫢💛

How the pork belly, cod roe pork belly and honeycomb pork skin taste
Finally, the beautifully browned, perfectly grilled meat arrived! Once grilled, they transfer it onto a grill plate topped with vegetables. The heat stays on underneath the whole time, so you can keep eating it warm until the very end 👍

With the meat out, the table finally felt properly full 🤤 The cod roe pork belly especially was a menu item I'd never seen before — with little bits of cod roe studding the outside, the look of it alone was fascinating! I was so hungry that day that after a few photos I just dove straight in lol 🥰
I started with the regular pork belly, and one bite in, the juices were packed inside, making the meat soft and moist. At first I dipped it just in salt, and it had a clean flavor where the meat's own taste really came through — so good!

The cod roe pork belly had cod roe stuck to the outside, so the seasoning was already there without needing extra sauce haha. The briny, savory flavor of the cod roe added something totally different from regular pork belly. Highly recommend for anyone who loves cod roe ><

I don't usually love honeycomb tripe, but this one was genuinely delicious 💛💛 It was fully coated in seasoning, giving it a sweet-and-salty flavor with a wonderfully chewy texture! Dipping it in soybean powder added even more nutty flavor, and I kept going back for more lol

I tried the recommended combo and it was seriously delicious. The shiitake sauce especially was amazing 💛 The green onion salad wasn't spicy at all and cut through the richness perfectly, so I ate it generously with the meat!

Wrapping a piece of meat in a lettuce leaf and taking a big bite gave a perfect nutty, clean flavor haha. As a wrap lover, I immediately asked for more lettuce and kept going.
It was also delicious paired with the grilled vegetables, especially the bracken fern — that combination was excellent.

Perilla oil buckwheat noodles and doenjang stew as sides
They had perilla oil buckwheat noodles (deulgireum makguksu) as a side, so I ordered it, and wow… this was genuinely insane 💛

Of all the perilla oil buckwheat noodles I've had, this ranks among the best! The nutty flavor was on a totally different level from other places — it was so good I kept eating it alongside the meat lol. Don't skip it just because it's listed as a side — you really, really have to try it! Highly recommend 💯
To finish, I ordered the doenjang stew (soybean paste stew), which had a deep, savory flavor almost like cheonggukjang (fermented soybean paste) that made me polish off a whole bowl of rice — a true rice thief 👍 The meat, the sides, and the stew were all delicious, and I left really satisfied! If you're looking for a good barbecue restaurant in Hwamyeong-dong, I'd recommend this place, and it's also a great, relaxed spot for a Hwamyeong-dong work dinner where you can enjoy good meat comfortably 🫶
