Ulsan milmyeon restaurant with rich broth: Samsam Milmyeon
In short
Samsam Milmyeon Main Branch is a longtime milmyeon restaurant in Nam-gu, Ulsan. I ordered extra-large mul milmyeon, bibim milmyeon, and dumplings, with rich hot broth and one-hour parking near the terminal. A satisfying stop for cold noodles and chewy dumplings in Ulsan.

Samsam Milmyeon Main Branch in Ulsan: location and parking
Let me introduce a great local milmyeon spot in Ulsan!

Samsam Milmyeon Main Branch (삼삼밀면 본점) is at 7 Hwahap-ro 125beon-gil, Nam-gu, Ulsan, and is open daily from 10:30 to 21:00. They also provide a one-hour parking voucher.

It is not a dedicated parking lot, but you can use the nearby Daegyeong Parking Lot or Paldo Paid Parking Lot!! They are across the street, and parking is free for one hour. Just pick up a parking voucher at the counter. It is only a two-minute walk from the Ulsan Intercity Bus Terminal, so I thought it would be perfect for lunch for anyone visiting Ulsan too, haha.

The main branch has even been selected as a Good Store!! The one I visited was the Samsan-dong main branch.

A milmyeon restaurant with plenty of seating
Here is the interior. There were lots of seats, haha. Luckily, I went around 4 p.m. on Sunday, so there were not many customers. There may be a wait in summer, but since it is a noodle place, tables turn over quickly. I heard they have been in business for 25 years and have lots of regulars~ With a spacious dining room and parking vouchers, it is also suitable for family gatherings and group meals.

There is an umbrella stand and baby chairs by the entrance.

If you need an apron, they are available at the counter.

The restroom is inside the restaurant~

I used the raised seating area above. I almost went up wearing my shoes by mistakeㅠ

This is the basic table setting. You order through the kiosk.

Ordering extra-large mul milmyeon and bibim milmyeon
Check out the menu! The mains are mul milmyeon (cold wheat noodles in broth) and bibim milmyeon (spicy mixed wheat noodles), while the sides are dumplings and extra noodles! You can also order an extra-large portion (+₩1,000). I got extra-large mul milmyeon (₩10,000), bibim milmyeon (₩9,000), and dumplings (₩6,000). So affordable, seriously.

You can pay by card, cash, Ulsan Pay, or split the bill, haha. Such a real local favorite—the menu is limited.

The utensils are stored beside the table.

There is also vinegar and mustard for adding to the milmyeon. I tried the original flavor first, then added both, haha.

The rich hot broth I got refilled
When we ordered, the table came with pickled radish, danmuji (yellow pickled radish), soy dipping sauce for the dumplings, and hot broth—and wow, it was amazing.

The broth was super rich, with such deep, savory flavor. I kept scooping it up before the milmyeon arrived, then had it in between bites once the noodles came, over and over. I even got a refill. Usually pre-meal soup is too bland for me to keep drinking, but I could not stop here.

Ta-da ✨ The food is here—the classic combo. I kept alternating between the two milmyeon dishes and having dumplings in between, haha.

Icy mul milmyeon and bibim milmyeon loaded with cucumber
Starting the meal with the cold noodle soup✨ Little ice crystals were floating on top, and it was so refreshing that I kept drinking the broth. Since I was about to go full food mode, I cut the noodles up beforehand and dug in. The extra-large portion was huge. I was genuinely surprised by how large it was.

Next, the seasoned milmyeon! They gave us so much thinly sliced cucumber. Usually it is just a modest topping, but there was a ton of cucumber, which I loved. You can choose whether to include cucumber when ordering. I am a cucumber lover, so yes please ⭕️

I had it with the skate and pickled radish inside. The milmyeon comes already mixed, which is sweet—you can eat it right away. The spicy noodle broth was listed as being made with Korean native cattle bones. Nothing about it could possibly taste bad.

Chewy dumplings, the essential classic combo
And then, dumplings—the combo you cannot leave out with milmyeon🥟

The dumpling wrappers were wonderfully chewy. The wrappers were chewy, but the filling had plenty of meat and lots of juices too, so I was very satisfied. Dip them in soy sauce, wrap them up with the cold noodles, and repeat forever🤩 One serving of dumplings per person would be good too (🐷)
Parking stamp and wrapping up the meal
After finishing, we headed to the counter~ Just a note: Ulsan Pay is accepted. If you parked, have them stamp the slip you received. If you leave without getting it stamped, you will have to come back. Do not forget⭐️

We wrapped up the meal with the candies at the counter~ They were old-fashioned candies, which made it feel even more like a beloved longtime local spot. Anyway, I can see why this is an old milmyeon favorite with so many regulars. I left satisfied!!! I recommend stopping by if you visit Ulsan🍀
